• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Where did this airport originate from? also have you run the fault finder before trying to compile it?

Adding to what Jon is asking, there are limitations on certain type aspects of airport design that some Airport Design Utilities do not understand.

To put the question a different way. Did you load a stock airport into ADE and add all those Parking Spots or did you open someones airport bgl and try to compile it with ADE?

I used the default airport, I don't like any of the afcads from avsim. plus I added pier F about 20 new gates, plus the eastern satalite terminal another 20 spots.

huh, I can only have 255 codes per parking space, I don't think I have 255 in either of those spaces, I can add the parking only if I have no code with them, and I checked the fault finder but the faults it found had nothing to do with these specific parking spots

huhI checked the fault finder but the faults it found had nothing to do with these specific parking spots
Did you fix those faults?

BTW I have no problem adding a parking spot to CYYZ like one of the above:

Code:
      <TaxiwayParking
         index="206"
         lat="43.6767364333333"
         lon="-79.61497995"
         heading="125.435157719916"
         radius="50.0M"
         type="RAMP_CARGO"
         name="PARKING"
         number="82"
         airlineCodes="FDX, GCO, MAL"
         pushBack="NONE"/>

But this is intriguing:

"Did not find end Parking Spot #257 needed for Taxi path #1049 at airport CYYZ"

Brandon

The max number of parking spots that have a ICAO Airline code assigned to the parking spot is 255 as per the compiler. Many designers that grew up using Lee's AFCAD FS9 utility did not have this restriction and so it never surfaced.

I have KATL with 254 parking spots coded with ICAO Airline codes so I don't go over the 255 limit. You can now add many more parking spots as over flow parking without ICAO codes and the compiler will compile the XML. My KATL total is over 300. Open the ADE parking spot list and it will tell you the total number of parking spots you have added in the left column.

There is another compiler restriction that never surfaced when using AFCAD for FS9. That restriction has to do with how many vertex points are set to complete all aprons on a Airport. I do not have the number of vertex points allowed but if memory serves me right it was somewhere around 1000 or so.

The errors about not finding the end parking spot needed for the taxiway path is not a issue we see with ADE. Is there a slight possibility you loaded the XML through FSXP at some point in the design?

Some time back with FSXP it was causing some errors with what you see happening in ADE. Russell was working on a fix for those end parking spot issues but I do not know if that version of FSXP has been released yet.
