• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I all

I am new to ADE but really enjoying it. I am however struggling when it comes to adding the exlude auto gen, add a simple airstrip or a windsock or building they just don't seem to work.

I am using fsx se , installed the latest version of ADE, have installed the p3d sdk 1.4 for fsx se which installed to the Lockheed Martin folder in program (86×).
In ADE the folders are pointing to the correct locations for the bgl and shp2vec.
I have set the measurements so they match the the measurements in fsx se

I have created a fictional small airfield which has successfully being created and shows up in the airport list.

I took a screenshot of my location in topdown view which I loaded as a background to use as a guide to exlude some trees and add things like windsock and fences etc.

In fsx se I slewed my helicopter to the location of the trees I want exluded added polys double clicking on the last poly which brings up the yellow area, I also clicked on each poly to set the altitude and select the first option in the top box and selected the 5th option in the second box., clicked on the compile icon top right of the ADE window
and I get the window saying airport compiled.
In the scenery folder I have the airport bgl and the cvx file but my scenery doesn't change.
I have also set the wingspan to the helicopter blade length (8,5m) not sure if I should set the grid.
Have a missed a step

Regards

Rhys

Hello...

Did you save the ad4 file? Where are the cvx and bgl files located?

Is it possible to attach the ad4 file?

Hi Doug

Yes, save file then compile. The bgl and cvx files are located in Scenery folder in the Addon Scenery folder FSX se. Here is the ad4 file

Are you sure that your Addon Scenery layer in the Scenery Library is present and checked as Active?

Hope this helps,

Hi

Thanks I'm using orbx North Island scenery so my scenery looks different my addon scenery folder is active

Regards

Rhys

That's what I was afraid of. ORBX often prevents you from changing their scenery, somehow.

Thanks Tom
I thought that might be the case thanks heaps for the help

Merry Christmas everyone and a safe new year

Hi guys
Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas

I have noticed that the coordinates in FSX don't match the coordinates in ADE which may explain the issue I am having ?

Cheers

Rhys
