• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I am using ADE9X and checked all of my settings to be sure they are correct. Yes I even checked the paths for everything.
When I go to compile an airport I get this error message:

ScruffyDuck Scenery Design Engine Compiling
Using UNKNOWN BglComp....

INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C1003: Failed to create MSXML object! (0x80040154)

Parsing document: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SABA_ADEX_FBR.xml

INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2430: Unrecoverable error parsing XML!
INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2006: Parse failed (0x80004005)
INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: #C2003: Failed to process file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SABA_ADEX_FBR.xml

What am I doing wrong to generate this error message? Please help.

I think if you run the ADE Environment Checker that ships with ADE you may find that you do not have MSXML 4 installed.

The other issue is that you have your XML saved into Program Files. If you are running Vista or Windows 7 then chances are that your User Access Control will stop the creation of files there.

First check you have MSXML 4 installed - if not install it. In any case please do not try to work with files in your Program Files folder structure. In fact we strongly recommend FS9 or FSX is not installed in the default folder - this causes all sorts of problems with addons and User Access Control. You might also need to consider re-installing outside that folder structure.

I have also moved this thread to the ADE support forum. You should get more directed support here.

Yes I do have FSX installed in the default folders. I am running Windows XP Pro service pack 3. I did run the environment checker and it came back ok to run ADE9X. As to the MSXML 4.0 where should that go. I do have the file.
All the paths are correct. ADE9X states that it finds all the necessary programs in the anticipated places. What else should I check?

not sure about XP but in Vista32 they are here:
the MSXML4.dll"s are in the Windows/System32 folder......
if you have versions 3 and 6 they should be there as well......
version 5 is obsolete.........
and there should be a folder MSXML4 in the Program files also.......

Have you tried compiling to a location other than the default folders? Please try compiling to your desktop or your documents folder.

Ok, I do have MSXML 4.0 installed in the Windows/System32 folder.
I will try compiling to the desktop. If that doesn't do the trick, then I am out of luck.

In the FSX sub folder of ADE there is a file called log_201102.log. Can you please zip that up and send it to me. Also in the same zip the project (.ad2) file that you are working on.
