• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

So I have a model that I've modeled in Gmax and FSDS 3.5, when running in XP and have adjusted the color scheme for windows 7 every thing looks good, but when I run the same model in windows 8 I loose all transparency ( windows, prop disks etc). I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and if so how did you adjust your video card to correct it.

AMD Radeon HD 7310 Graphics Card
Bill I'm still trying to figure it out.

It is not possible to lose Transparency. Your file must be RGBA compatible (DDS,TGA, PSD, BMP etc) It is not because you change OS or country of residence.
Check your texture file and materials all over again. Send us screensots or a model that you have concern on.

Edgar.

Here are two photos of the prop disk, and windows, that I am trying to figure out. One is running in windows 7, which the prop disk looks good and the other is in windows 8. The texture files are bmp, 256, 8 bit.

FS9 model in FSX ? Did you made this model ? If it is your model made for FSX could you tell us transparency settings ? Like Alpha tests and Framebuffer Blend and so..
Use DDS instead of BMP.

I had to check Transform and Lighting in FS Settings to get transparency to work.

Tom exactly where in FSX settings is transform and lighting. I'm over looking it. BTW This is a FS 9 model running in FSX, however I have the same problem running FS 9 in windows 8.

This was in FS9; I assumed there was the same in FSX, but there may not be.

Tom; There is no transform and lighting in FSX, but thanks anyway.
Same to FSFOX.
Still working on it. etc.
