• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

A project I'm working on sometimes, when the others start to become boring (yes, it happens to me....)
But I'm happy with the look of this tailwheel :)
Can you guess?

Nice modeling. I can't wait to see you animate those springs. :yikes:

Extra 300 then.
Correct. To be more exact: I'm planning to do the whole Extra 330 series (SC, LX & LT) Don't know if I'm going to succeed, but I'll give it a try ;)

@pauldomingue Thanks! As far as I know, the spring doesn't become longer or smaller (at least not noticable), so I think with some bones it has to be possible.

I've played around with springs and there is no easy way of animating them even with bones that I know of. I think the best method would be to have two or three variations modeled at different stages of compression and use visibility tags. The speed at which the springs flex would be to fast for the eye to catch anyways.

I meant more like 1 bone for the hole spring, so it moves as 1 part (and the chains also 1 bone each). I'll ask a real owner, but I think the extension won't be much more than 1 cm. So the 'stretching' animation is not directly needed. (Or you have to disagree )

Keyframing the scale of an object. Or in this case with a bone scaled to the IK chain. Not called like that?
Ok, maybe were talking about two different things. You can not scale/resize an object as an animation because FSX will not accept that. You can only distort an object as a skinned animation through the use of bones.

working on an AFCAD of CYKM Kincardine, it wont be a full scenery just an afcad, so if anyone wanted to contimnue it they could with all the information punched into it here it is at least for an afcad done...rest of airport not ready yet...at least it will show up in youre fs2004 scenerry list!!

Cessna 140 - Test 3.png

Hi,

Not in any sim for the moment, it's a blender test Render. And yup, that's a Cessna 140. I will see about making a 120 version, but I want to focus on the 140, and make it fly on sim. I have to learn everything, because I'm an absolute newbie on these things....
