• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Texture Question

Thanks for the replies guys. I've narrowed it down to shadows causing the problem. Had the sim set to noon with the sun directly overhead. The roof overhang is causing a shadow to be cast over the sides of the structure and that's what's causing the white to be grey. I will run it through...

    Texture Question

Thanks for the suggestion. When I tried saving as a 24 bit bmp all parts of the barracks that used that texture didn't show up. Doc G

    Texture Question

Don't know if this is the right forum to post this question but here it is. Using FSDS V 3.5.1 I've designed an old Style army barracks with a white texture. It looks just fine in the photo editor and just fine in FSDS but when I get it into FSX instead of white it looks grey. What I do is...

Looking for a 1940 Pickup Truck

While browsing through the Scenery\Global\Textures folder I came across a texture file named Gen40SVeh_PickupA.dds. The texture file depicts a White 1940 pickup truck. I can't find the object that goes with this texture file. Just wondering and hoping someone here could tell me what...

    Library Object files

Hello Guys, Need a little help here. I'm a new user. Downloaded Airport Design Editor version 01.45.6. I created an object library with library object creator and I copied that object library.bgl file over to the Airport Design Editor/BGL Folder. I had 11 objects in that library...

    Object Placement Tool

I've constructed several simple objects using FSDS V3. Exported them as scenery objects. Ran the resulting mdl and xml files through Library Creator XML. Compiled the modified library and moved the new libray bgl to the FSX Addon\scenery folder. When I run Object Placer Tool there's no...

Creating A Library with Objects Designed Using FSDS

Hi, When compliling a scenery object into a mdl file in FSDS, for use with Library Creator, under Project Properties, I leave the FSDS default location. I don't change anything there. Apparently Object Placer overides that information. The second part of your question, I don't think...

Creating A Library with Objects Designed Using FSDS

Hi, I'm pretty new to this so my answer may seem off base. Are you running the latest version of Library Creator? I'm assuming you end up with a library.bgl file in FS9. Have you tried just copying or moving that .bgl over to FSX? If that's no help then basically here's what I'm...

Hey Guys, Thanks for the the replies. Forgot to mention that I also had checked through the new objects one by one and didn't find any of my library objects among the newly added objects. Doc G

    DID SP1 Change Something?

Before installing SP1 Using FSDS v3, I created scenery objects, saved them as scenery.mdl files and then using Library Creator, created a library containing these objects. The library file would be saved in the FSX addon scenery\scenery folder. Then I would boot FSX and load FSX Object...
