• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    FS2004 Boeing 747 Classic

Hey all, just as an update to this project as a whole. While @FSMuseum has been busy hammering at the 2D panels and code, I've also been working on a unique VC and external 3D model. The external 3D model has been shown here in other threads, but here is the VC: There are still some visible...

FS2004 FS2004 supplements for skinned objects?

Thank you for the info. I'm new to this method (and new to FS9 in general, I started in FSX). When you say 32bit limit, is this a file size limit which adds all the asm files when they are included (4096MB)? Or is it an integer limit of the actual data (4,294,967,295)?

FS2004 FS2004 supplements for skinned objects?

I estimate the total vertex amount to be around 150,000 vertices, so hopefully it will be OK. Thank you for the help m(_ _)m

FS2004 FS2004 supplements for skinned objects?

I am using the ULE export method which allows over 65k verts as I export separate objects in batches that are under 65k, then recombine them. I believe it is what iFly uses as their 747 is way over the limit as well, and I dont intend on this running on some 2GHz Pentium system. With this, I am...

FS2004 FS2004 supplements for skinned objects?

They are not connected because they need to bend. The slats go from straight to bent on the 747 when extended, and FS9 does not support object deformations so the only way to bend it is to split the object up into pieces, and individually rotate them. At least from what I've seen, this is what...

FS2004 FS2004 supplements for skinned objects?

Hi all, In the quest to making @FSMuseum 747 project with all original assets (instead of copying directly from CLS or POSKY models) I am in a bit of a bind when it comes to the variable camber slats on the 747. FS9 does not support skinned objects like FSX+ does, so while it is technically...

    Extended Mirror Tools 1.0a

Extends the Milviz mirror tool to allow copying of dummy rigs. More information here.

    3DS Max Extended Mirror Tool

Hey all, I extended the Milviz Mirror Tool script to allow mirroring of dummy/point helper rigs. This is especially useful when mirroring wingflex or landing gear rigs, as the sim does not accept negative scale and dummies nor points can be mirrored cleanly without essentially redoing the rig...

MSFS20 Detail map refuses to work correctly

Apparently this turned out to be a bug in Max. On this article, scroll all the way down to find the solution to this problem.

MSFS20 Detail map refuses to work correctly

I am texturing a simobject with the detail texture, but for whatever reason, in MSFS2020, the sim applies the detail texture throughout the entire object when I very clearly set vertex colors to 0 for the areas where I do not want this texture to appear. In the below example, the tan-ish part...

MSFS20 Boeing 737 Classic Cockpit for MSFS

I've removed my CGTrader account because I didn't have the time to manage all the support requests. However, I made a backup of all my content from there, including the 737. You can download it from OneDrive: 737-classic

MSFS20 Piracy, Asobo and MS marketplace pcs of...

Yes, but it doesn't stop someone from taking the .WASM in the panel folder and dumping that bytecode. That way, the sim will recompile it to a new DLL, and you can skip patching that DLL and patch the .WASM in the panel folder instead. Compiling a DLL from your IDE natively does not produce...

MSFS20 Piracy, Asobo and MS marketplace pcs of...

Yes, but many developers may choose to not engage with that sort of pricing. Even though the marketplace has the option, there are developers that don't sell on the marketplace, and many of them don't engage with regional pricing.

MSFS20 Piracy, Asobo and MS marketplace pcs of...

100% defeating piracy isn't really going to happen, and at some point, it will start to affect the legitimate customer's experience. In FSX/ESP and to some extent, X-Plane, if you decided to use DLLs, you could use commercial piracy protection schemes such as Themida, or Obsidium. These would...

    MSFS20 Boeing 747 Classic

Something I also decided to try out is nighttime flash photography renders, and I think it may look even more realistic than the day time renders I have been doing... (note that the textures are still at 2K, so they do look crusty at close ups) I recommend you blow up the images to see the full...

    MSFS20 Boeing 747 Classic

I can't believe it has already nearly been a month since I updated this post...! Stepped away to resolve some other matters but came back quickly to finish some of the rest of the textures (of which there are now only 4 left to do) The underside breaker panel for the FE is now complete. I've...

MSFS20 Boeing 737 Classic Cockpit for MSFS

Hi all. As you may or may not be aware, I had published a freeware 767 model for MSFS a couple of years ago. With that said, I decided to embark on a personal project of mine (the 737 Classic) in Summer of 2023 and now that it is done, I decided to share it's models, textures, fonts, and source...

    MSFS20 Boeing 747 Classic

An update for you all, the FE's station has completed most of its texturing (the pressurization panel and the annunciators still need their touches) but all the circuit breakers also had their tedious tasks done. Small improvements to the MCP were to correct some font inaccuracies. There are...

    MSFS20 Boeing 747 Classic

Hi all. In collaboration with @FSMuseum , I have worked in the last month with him to produce a Virtual Cockpit for his Boeing 747 Classic. Of course, this Virtual Cockpit will of course NOT be for the FS2004 version (haha) but will be for his MSFS 2020 version. You can read more about his...

    [RESOLVED] Jetway Animation Help

Hey all. I've been spending many hours with no results in animating this jetway for MSFS. The canopy head rotates when requesting a jetway, but it doesnt move or extend the bridge at all. I currently don't have any canopy animations (it doesn't bend at all) but for now I'm more worrying about...
