• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ADE not compiling

I've never seen this error before. See clipboard01.jpg file.
I was using the program last night and it worked great. Loaded it up today to continue working. I was adding parking spots and links only. It was fine until I tried to compile and then the failure. I tried to reload the bgl file from last night without changing anything and still no compile.
I haven't changed anything or downloaded anything since last night when I shut down.
Any ideas?

I'm using the latest version of ADE and the box in the lower left hand corner shows green with no errors prior to compiling.

Thanks,
Alan

Same here. G'damn! Exactly the same error.

I can't "update" ADE either, something missing in my temp file apparently.

1.61 gives the same error code. I haven't had a windows update and ADE hadn't updated prior to this either.

Jon's going to have a bad morning methinks!

Not me ;) I have a bunch of these reports and y'all have probably just gotten an update to Avast or similar. It is treating the GP library as a virus. Y'all need to report it as a false positive. We have seen this before and it was Avast last time I recall

Same here, exactly the same message. It's obviously a false positive.
Workaround: Avast pops-up a message saying that a threat has been blocked blablabla... and at the bottom of the pop-up, click on "Exclude that file from scan". ADE will compile again ;)

Thanks for the tip :) I don't use Avast but my AV is also capable of false positives now and again.

I stopped using Avast! a year ago. It has become way too fat, and way too agressive.

open Avast, goto settings, Antivirus, scroll down to exclusions. under file paths tab, browse to your ADE folder, tick the box next to it and click ok. This will exclude the folder preventing Avast from scanning it.

Perfect... Worked like a charm, thanks for sharing.
Stupid Avast...

I've done this but it's still not running! Sigh!

*** It's because I reinstalled ADE with Avast ruining it. I re--reinstalled with with it under the exclusions.
