• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

This is a bug fix release that deals with a number of recently reported bugs:

Updated
  • [11028] Removed Add-in Manager from Tools. Add-ins are being moved into the main application now
Fixed
  • [11044] Added Pixel units label for Accidental Drag Delay option
  • [11020] CTD caused by invalid dimension or parking units
  • [11039] Updated message for missing Effects folder to be more explicit
  • [11035] CTD when trying to draw a new link from an existing node
  • [11029] Checkbox overlap in Change Airport Reference Data
  • [11031] 1.65 bug that stopped airport ident from showing in the Comm list
  • [11041] Bug that caused 'random' taxi designators being assigned to new taxi links
Available now via the on-line updater

After the updtate, ADE informed me that there had been a precious crash, there hadn't.

I let it open what it thought was the save previous to the crash and it was earlier than the true saved file.

Sounds like there was an earlier autosave file that didn't get deleted George

I don't think so. It was just previous to the saved version I made when prompted by the installer.

It is possible that when ADE is restarted by the installer that it picks up an autosave that was not removed when it closed. However if that was the case then it would probably be doing that regularly in the past.

This was probably the first time that I had made changes before the update popped-up. I saved and restarted the update.

It seems that it didn't clear the autosave on save because the update had it locked?

That seems likely. Next time there is an update I will run some tests. I might be able to intervene and delete an autosave file if there is one when an update is pending

It does that now if there the project is dirty when the update is ready to install so this would have to be in the same place with the same rules

Trying to compile an airport, I get this error with ADE v. 1.65.5452:

"Compiler Errors Found. These were not identified by the Issue Manager. Please let us know
what the compiler error is so that we can improve the Issue Manager.

The compiler message is shown below

I have attached the .bgl file.

I don't have an .ad4 file. This comes out of a MAIW package, and what I am trying to to is to change the spelling of the country from "United States of America" to "United States".

FS9 or FSX or what?

This looks a very weird airport - there is a tiny water runway and a runway link over it that is bigger than the runway and off that runway. It should not be possible to draw a runway link off a runway, except it may be with AFCAD which appears to be used to create it. Changing the runway link to an apron or taxi link allows the airport to compile. Whether that gives the desired result in sim is something else.

I believe this is actually a waypoint in a MAIW AI flight plan, or it is a bombing range from a flight plan.

I'll see what I can do with it.

Then I guess the link type is not going to be much of an issue

You will have to increase the length of the water runway to 500ft otherwise the FSX compiler ADE is using, will not compile.

I had no problem compiling it with the small runway once I change the link Roby. In fact the runway is the size and type we use for crosswind runways. The problem was a runway link not on a runway
