• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Airbus A350 XWB

An odd thing flying this big beast with such unrealistic FDs
With a new model under development there are only two good reasons why it should be loaded into the sim, visual inspection and/or development of the instrumentation and FDs. Anything else is just fun and games, and you don't have time for that. Get to work!

Now two things I just noticed I need to change have to dow ith the UV, one was a simple fix, the other I probably need to discuss with my painter to see what he makes of it...

Thanks @seaheroz

And @KL791 I'm afraid mine connot handle such pressure ;)

I found a few more issues with the unwrap, through they get smaller in size and numbres anything that is fixed now won't annoy people in the future.

So one of the new problems puts me in bit of a dillema that I'll have to discuss with my painter to see which of two possibilities would be better. Both have their own pros and cons... After that's fixed though I think it's ready for a lick of paint.

Nice work!

I want to show you this mesh 'problem': the loop density is somewhat irregular, causing these shading artefacts. Removing or re-arranging the loops there should improve it ;)

All mine. Just about to start on the VC. No idea how long thats gonna take. Must say that this process is lots of fun though.

Fine work Terence, but would you be so kind to inform people of your progress in a new thread on this forum. So people can see what's what. Thank you!

F747fly, could you update us a little bit on the VC? Thats the part I am most exited for :)

Nothing newe thusfar, finishing the exterior first...

Sorry, I had no intention of hijacking your thread. This is all just a bit of fun for me. Will begin a new thread when I post next time. Whenever that may be. Regards..

I've almost fixed the last issue concerning the unwrap after which it'll be ready for painting.

see it should be less of a straight line, easy fix though will do the trick ;)

Dude, I'm really liking the way your reflective material is turning out. You can get an even more natural look by reducing the reflection scale in the material editor (or however it's done in Blender) and upping the contrast on your environment map. It gives nice reflections while retaining the original colors in your diffuse/spec maps.

Environment maps are endless fun... :wizard:

Thanks guys! I'll take a look at the ENV_MAP @ozzman1997 , Thanks man!
I'm slowly finishing the paint kit, one of the parts it should include is that black "eye lash" around the cockpit windows, first attempt isn't brilliant though....

The black paint follows the shape of the windows. Might require some trial & error to get right, especially on a planar map.
