• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ChatGPT and MSFS developement

I'm getting a little burnt out on CGPT, kind of like when you go to FSDeveloper to find out how to do something, but some joker has added links to every other possible iteration of the same problem, so you just end up clicking in circles.

As a recent poster of a (potentially) humorous non sequitur as a joke, I must say its good to know that my 'insidious' plans are actually working occasionally, to compel an in depth course of study ...for those who are ready, willing, and able to "go the distance". :stirthepo

While learning how to work with the FS SDK is challenging, I would rather compel a comprehensive review of pertinent info that is likely to prove necessary in the long run, instead of becoming a "just the facts" guy who blurts out replies in a "dumbed down" form requested by someone otherwise at risk for not learning what may prove most conducive to comprehensive understanding.:rotfl:

I agree, though, that it would be helpful to have a search-able, concise reference for all versions of MS' FS SDK's for all tasks, to minimize forum browsing.

But, IMHO, it seems we may yet best learn / troubleshoot in "old School" ways rather than via ChatGPT (ScatGPT ?) AI ...which lies as "Lackey To The Man".

Gary, you are an indispensable resource and after all of us have been replaced with virtual avatars, they'll still be figuring out you represent the glue that bonds us.

Yes well it is a great responsibility, but everybody agrees you handle it well and we certainly pay you well enough, so, ya.

Apart from ChatGTP, the use of DALL-E for parallax image generation is also an interesting idea, a pity the message got lost.
Can we have that note again? Or did anybody get the reference before the message disappeared ?
