• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Compiler Error - Help please

Having EditVoicePak installed is certainly responsible for the problem.

Nothing is for sure George. However if there is a problem with the version of MSXML then EVP often appears to be the cause.

In my ATC_Voicepack_SDK folder I have msxml4.dll dated 9/10/2003. In my windows folder I have MSXML4-KB973685-ENU.exe dated 8/11/2009 and MSXML4-KB973688-ENU.exe dated 7/30/2009. I haven't had any issues related to this but should I delete the file in ATC_Voicepack_SDK?

If you have had no problems then leave well alone ;)

Having EditVoicePak installed is certainly responsible for the problem.

I also have edit voice packX version 4 for FSX that Lar's developed and it does not cause a compile issue with ADE.

What does cause ADE to stop compiling is Microsofts SDK's. If you install either the FS2002 or FS2004 SDK_ATC_Voicepack_Setup.exe it registers a older version of the MSXML.dll that takes precedence over any other MSXML.dll installed. ADE will now fail to compile.

Lar's may have used a earlier version of MSXML.dll for his EVP version 2.2 (FS2002) or ver 3.1 (FS2004)

Microsoft did not release a SDK ATC _Voicepack for FSX.

Thanks for the clarification Jim I have updated the on-line article

Thank you both. I don't recall ever running the sdk voicepak setup. I guess that's why it's never been a problem.

Just to clarify again, while they do the same thing (in very different ways), they are two different programs (the SDK by MS, EditVoicePack by Lars Møllebjerg).
