• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

CVXExtractor - Exporting vector data.

Gary, it's good to hear from you again!

I did, but upon further investigation I found that QGIS said the SHP file I exported from CVXExtractor had no attached coordinate reference. So I tried exporting in Open Street Map format and that worked just fine.

I have finally learned how to make a TIN file, and have an airport boundary for the airport... it's only a matter of figuring out how to limit the TIN data to just one particular airport's boundary, then what to do after that. One step at a time, and I'm getting closer to figuring it out.

During import, a GIS application may not detect a Metadata field for "Coordinate Reference System" (aka "CRS") in a *.SHP file.

CvxExtractor outputs data in the original format it was submitted to SDK SHP2VEC to compile the CVX Vector BGL: EPSG:4326.

Perhaps if you assign the CRS to EPSG:4326, QGIS will finish the import ? :scratchch

Hi Patrick:

Just a heads-up regarding recent surprises discovered with the MSFS-2020 SU9 release (in case you had not already seen this).

Some initially reported issues are discussed here:

...here:

We would be very grateful if you were once again able to decipher new changes in MSFS SU9 XML and BGL coding, and assist the FSDeveloper community to better understand how to utilize this new code format via your brilliant (MS-)FS utilities. :teacher:

Many thanks for your prior- (and future ?) work in making this esoteric aspect of FS SDK coding comprehensible and usable. :)
