• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Haha no my holiday is longer over already. I had most of that A319 already laying around anyway, in the form of an A321. Reformed it to an A319, worked on all bits that still needed to be done in a few hours, spread over a couple of days. And from their I made the other A32X versions I needed. The 737 I built in two evenings, say a few hours. And also there,I started with a 737-800W and got every version I needed from their. All that I don't use I'll put back in my Blend-file library ;)
 
And new to that library is the Scimitar version (as used by TUI). I modelled this by photos so it may not be fully accurate...

Well I was actually wondering this the other day. I AO bake my textures and then show renders of it in Blender, and afterwards we all wonder if the AO is too much... However I just realized I now have AO in my textures plus a bit of "virtual AO" made by Blender in rendering images, or would that not be true?

I placed them real quick with MCX, for a quick test that seemed okay, but they're sinking into the ground...
I hope this isn't a problem with the models themselves...

Amazing! I've sure missed a lot in a few days! Also, pardon my noob-iness, but what is "AO"?

Thanks! Well AO stands for Ambient Occlusion, which is pritty difficult to explain actually. It basically has to do with the exposure to the environment along the object. The environment being light. Imagine I've got a cube with a plane as a floor. If I'd AO bake the following principal would happen. The program creates a certain amount of lights (keep in mind this is theoratical, it doesn't actually create does lights) and possitions them evenly around the object. The program will then get shadows on this cube from all those lights. Some parts will be very much exposed to the light (the top of the cube for instance). The bottom however, which rests on the floor, will have no exposure at all (no light can reach it because the floor is in the way). those two parts will receive a white (top, fully exposed) and a black (bottom, not exposed at all) colour in the AO. It's all pritty complex to explain....
