• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Something strange has happen'd. most of my scenery tools don't recognize my FS9 install's anymore. EZ Scenery work's but Sbuilder and ADE9 are in the dark. Im guessing its to do with me purchasing and installing FSX Steam (which im not sure i like yet ) but i don't see why it should, all my SDK 's are in place and Fsuipc is in place. Every scenery program, even after reinstalling, seems to be directed to FSX Steam. ADE demands "shp2vec" which is in the FSX SDK pack only, and SBuilder tells me FS9 is missing even after ive fired it up and been flying around in FS9 for hours.

EDIT, I've uninstalled FSX Steam ( if i cant tinker with it, i don't want it ) but the problems persist, so Steam has bugger'd with the registry somehow, which is a bit out of my skill set

I also looked into System restore, but im only given 2 points, both after the problems started

Hello:

Try restoring the Windows Registry entries for various FS versions with one of these utilities:

https://www.tweakfs.com/store/free_tools.php

https://www.nmgsimulations.co.za/flight-simulator-registry-fixer/

https://www.flight1software.com/files/FS_Registry_Repair.exe

ADE will find and link to the FS2004 SDK and FS2004 install folder chains ...if they are installed:

https://www.scruffyducksoftware.com/airport-design-editor

Otherwise, manually edit the required paths in:

* ADE via its configuration feature:

ADE Menu > Settings Options > {Folders} tab

...and in:

* SBuilder.ini / SBuilderX.ini files

SBuilder for FS9 (aka SBuilder version 2.05 aka SB205) will find and link to the FS2004 SDK and FS2004 install folder chains ...if they are installed:

For FS2004, use SBuilder for FS9 (aka SBuilder version 2.05 aka SB205):

For FSX, use SBuilderX for FSX (aka SBuilder version 3.15):

FSX Steam Edition (aka "FSX_SE") uses default FSX folder paths and system environment variables if installed before / instead of the DVD version of FSX.

Use the P3D version 1.4x SDK as the (complete and compatible) FS SDK for all FSX work:

This thread discusses the various FS version Windows Registry entries:

https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/registry-keys-fsx-fsx-se-p3dv1-p3dv2.432633/

Both ADE and SBuilder for FS9 / SBuilderX require that particular versions of FSUIPC be installed in order to link with a running session of FS:
