• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 (FSX & X-Plane 10) Bell 429: she is slowly getting some shapes

Animations will portover fine into FSX with only tagging required for use in FSX. Partnames don't need to match what is in the modeldef script as the script itself is attached via the attach tool or animation manager. Since the spinning rotor has it's own XML definition in the modeldef, exporting the parts propxxx_still, slow, blurred will still work fine with the rotor animation XML (rotor_still, slow, blurred). On another note, the tail rotor spins faster then the main rotor. That's another advantage in FSX. It can done in FS9, but it's tricky to do.

George,

She is looking beautiful!
Keep up the great work!!!!!
No hurries!
Wait! When will she be released?????

:) Just kidding!
No me importa!
Estoy feliz y esperando pacientemente mientras practicando mi español.

Cheers
Gary

Hi sergio and the bell 429 team, this is a fine looking bit of kit. will the search light actually work or will it be static same for
the frontal camera ball? when will the release be around christmas do you think sergio.?
the pic,s look out of this world and the detailing is superior.

David.

Hello David

Sadly, I am a super begginer in XML programming and a very bad one by the way. In my side, all details you've mentioned will be static because I don't know how to implement the part scripts to do it. Also, if everything goes well, the FS9 versions will be ready in a few weeks.

Nowadays, I am tweaking the gauge scripts as humanly possible... :duck: :duck: :duck:

Thanks for your kind words and support.
All the best,
Sergio.

Hi sergio have you tried using autocad regarding XML scripting i,m sure this programe as tutorials on how to,s
plus animations how to.s step by step it shows you how to implement each item and join them as on a time loop to create the animation.
well this is fantastic news about the bell 429 sergio. cant wait for her to lift in fs9.
well done on your ever so progressing work.
David.

Hi again David

What you mentioned about autocad is unknown to me o_O o_O o_O. On the other hand, its a good time to do some beta testing; do you want to join?

If it is the case, I will post a link with all I have working in FS9.

Thank you.
Sergio.

yes i can do that no prob ive Done beta testing for scenery and aircraft in the past if it will help speed things up sure.
go ahead and post the link sergio i,m willing to help you out and i will have that search light working for you.

sergio leave the scripting files open to edit for me to look at. regarding the XML for the search light animation.

I will need to stop the model production again... :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

Please, don't get me wrong with this; its is just it takes a lot of time to export each model.   Thank you very much, any help is very welcome.

Ok, how we are going to do this? Via 2D panel scripting or... through 3D part creation. For me, studying a 2D panel script, is a half way to implement any 3d part in the Makemdl.parts.xml file. At least is the way I have been using for this tasks... Jordan More have done that part in the 2D gauge (the logic is placed in the collective 2D panel); however, I don't have the 3d part code and I have no clue on how to make it work with an animation in Gmax.

Cheers,
Sergio.

3d xml gauge coding is so much easier and cleaner than 2d because your only dealing with the animation and not colors, text and xyz coordinates. Sometimes a simple analog gauge will only need one short string of code to function properly.

Hi Paul, I agree. Nevertheless, I am not equiped with all XML knowledge to do many things. Right now, I am studying the 2d gauge script in order to "translate" it into a 3d part.

Thanks.
Sergio.

The VC is taking shape in FSX with the very first successful export. Still long ways to go, but I am making progress:wizard:

Hi sergio NP just let me know when your ready for beta as this is your project.
could you do me a paint job on the bell 429 the same as my profile pic that would be so kind
of you if this can be applied.

KIND REGARDS
David

We lads

Some news:
I have several model variations exported to FS9 and they are... "fine". I've been performing test flights for a while and sadly, the flight dynamics are not good at all. I simply don't have the knowledge to make her flight as she should (including gauge scripting).

That being said, I am done with her. In the best scenario, the helicopter would be a "nice" curiosity and nothing else. As soon as I am able, I will upload all variations in "well known" websites if you want to try it...
