• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

FSXA gmax polygnd texture flickering

i wanna make satelite airport texture for my airport, At least,i know there are two ways to do this ,one is the bgl using the SDK resample tool, another is using the Gmax,creating a plane ,applying the satelite image to it and export it to the MCX,then FSX, the second way of doing things seems to be more accurate than the former.i converted the satelite images into DDS ,putting everything into FSX,but the default airport background appers in some place of the airport,i set the layer to 12 and flattened the airport,but the airport base texture still flickers,any ideas? thanks,guys
 
Try using a higher layer number, like 24 or 48.

Also, the area must be *perfectly flat*. Try adding more flatten polygons.
 
Same problem :(
I have flattened the airport using ADEX by creating flatten polygon. I also set the layer to 12 but i didn't try to increase it, I'll try it then I'll tell you what i get.

Sometime you flatten in SbuilderX or ADE but in FSX it is not perfectly flat. You have to test it with TcalcX.

No it is not. It tells you the elevation in the game and tells you the coordinate. You can test that the flatten is working as it should or not. Then you need to go back to ADE or SbuilderX to elevate the flatten again.
Please look at the Resource Tab on the menu of this forum and search for it. There are a lot of resources that you need.
