• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

It does not appear that you have a version of FSUIPC registered into the FSX.xml file. ADE9X requires a working free version of FSUIPC for both FS9 and FSX.

As Jim says - versions after 1.45 need FSUIPC 3 installed for FS9 and FSUIPC 4 installed for FSX. both are free downloads and installations.

You are indeed ;)

Try a google search for fsuipc download Chances are the first link to come up with be the The Official Peter Dowson Page and you can download both version from there

I presume that FSUIPC needs to be installed and operational before ADE is installed?

I'm still getting the same error after having done the 4 update thing.

Sorry to be a bother. :o

No, that message should go away once you install it. Can you confirm you have an Add Ons menu in FSX with an FSUIPC entry in it? In FS9 it's a Modules menu heading instead of Add Ons.

which version of FS are we talking about? If you have it installed and open FS then you should see FSUIPC under the Modules Menu. If it is not there then it has not installed.

Jon, I have FSX w/Acel all patched to latest releases ... the FSUIPC installed correctly. I have a modules folder and I presume FSUIPC 4.xx installed in it. (I say it that way cuz all I did was check for the mods folder)

*I'm at work now and won't be home till after 1800 EST to check for the rest of the installation, but when I finished the FSUIPC install, I got the little dialog box that popped up saying everything was properly installed. So I reckon I'm good.

Last night I uninstalled ADE and cleaned my system. Tonight, with the FSUIPC installed and in place I'm going to reinstall my ADE.

Is there someway/somewhere, I can get the latest edition/release of ADE without having to chase 13 different links to try to download?

Thanks for the support in advance, I hate being a hemmroid.

Updates are from 1.45 so to re-install you will need to:

  • install the 1.45 full setup package
  • run the update check to get 1.46 and install that
  • run the update check in 1.46 to get 1.47

Sorry for the all the updates but we have made a change in the updater and that is why there are two updates. There will be a new full install for 1.50 but that is probably a month or two away.

Have you run the ADE Environment Checker to see what that says?

Ted,

You may also want to download the current version of ADEC from The Owl's Nest download section. It has been adapted to check for the correct FSUIPC installation.

Thank you Gentlemen. As of 2001 hours EST, it would appear my new efforts at installing the latest works. I have interconnectivity between FSX and ADE. :)

I do have one other small problem.

I have since re-arranged my "support" files with regards to 3rd party scenery items and the like. When I open earlier airfields that had the previous address to the scenery objects, they of course can't be found and I get black boxes on the airfield in ADE mode.

Is there an easy way to update all the scenery objects to their new locations or do I have to delete everything and start over? :o

Ted

those black boxes as you know are objects you added from the addon BGL's,
to see these again you need the addon bgl's added back into ADE then the objects will show again,
i don't think you will be able to delete them (black boxes)
if the airport that you designed is small i would start over again,
i know it's a pain and I've done this many times,
it's quicker than trying to find the right bgl's sometimes especially if there's a lot of them
but it will eventually save you time and frustration in the long run
