FSX Jetway 3DS Max Sample file (animated, bones)

Hi Guys!

Does somebody have an animated working example jetway file in 3DS max file?

I'm trying to animate our LHBP scenery jetways. I did everything like in the tutorial video on wiki. I could import the object to the FSX but it does not move.

I would compare with a working example file, what is the difference.

Thanks a lot!

Or if somebody has experience in jetway animation creation I would appreciate if he/she could take a look in my model.

Thanks a lot!

How did you import it to FSX? If Im not mistaken, you have to import through an AFCAD program, via GUI substitution. Otherwise, it won't work as a regular .mdl/.bgl

Thanks for the answer!
I did export it as a normal mdl. Is there any documentation about this available? In the video it is not mentioned as far as I remember.

Not sure there is a one spot solution tutorial for that. I have not done it myself, but I do remember that the jetway must be linked to a gate, and only way to do that is through AFCAD.

I assume you placed the jetway using a normal placement program?

Actually you need a jetway entry in your AFCAD file which also contains the SceneryObject to display as a subsection.

Thank you! I see.

I usually use ADE for AFCAD editing. I see it has an option to Add Jetway (with right click). I see there is a GUID number, but I cannot change the GUID number.
Do I understand well that you have to export the jetways to a library file in the addon scenery\LHBP\scenery folder with different GUID's than I need to use these GUIDs in the AFCAD file?

As far as I understand the guid you se should match your model's guid so it is what displays.
as I don't use ADE I have absolutely no idea why you can't change it.

Problem is I need at least 3-4 type of jetways so at least 3-4 GUID's I would need.
Can I ask what AFCAD editor are you using?

I think I got it. In ADE you need the ProKey to edit the GUID properties in the windows directly.
I'll confirm asap.

there is an option on ADE to compile into an xml file. You can edit the GUI in the xml file...and then compile again.

yes, your jetway must reside in a library so that the afcad file can retrieve it.

I have managed to change the GUID in the AFCAD file, but unfortunately the jetway does not show up. (placing as a normal mdl/bgl it appears).
I would send the bgl/mdl/3ds file to anybody who has experience with jetway maybe he/she could find the thing I miss.
