• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Jetways Duplicated at KATL

Hi,

This is what I did.

1. Load stock KATL.
2. Compile it.
3. Start FSX at KATL (i.e. I had a default flight that loaded me at KATL).

When I use Ctrl-J to bring a jetway towards me, the movable part of the jetway duplicates and only one of them moves to my plane.

Now I have found that Jon has posted a blog article about this:

http://www.blog.scruffyduck.org.uk/index.php?/archives/31-FSX-Jetway-Bug.html

My questions:

1. It seems that all jetways are duplicated at this airport, and clearly not all jetways are being touched by a micro exclude. If a single exclude touches a single jetway does this duplicate every jetway at an airport?

2. Does the micro exclude need to be covering the "reference point" of the jetway, or any part of it? I am wondering if I need to move all jetways that have a micro exclude even touching it anywhere.

3. If it must touch the reference point, is that the point it rotates around when you rotate the jetway?

Thanks,

PS. You can "fix" this by starting FSX at another airport (like KMIA, or whatever), then using Go To Airport to take you to KATL. Then I have single jetways.

PPS. I have no duplicate files for KATL - I have never added anything for Atlanta before, and this is the first addon file I have added/created for this airport. I did a search of all my scenery and no other ATL files are present.

To try and answer your questions

1. No I don't think so

2. Cover the reference point

3. Not sure

3. If it must touch the reference point, is that the point it rotates around when you rotate the jetway?
Looks that way...

It should be as I think about it since that it the point that ADE would rotate it in the display

OK, I think I figured it out. Actually, the default airport doesn't have this problem - I had moved a jetway and forgot to move it back. Turns out that caused the problem. It was at Gate D2, where the jetway's ref point was covered by a micro-exclude. I moved the jetway a slight bit away from the micro-exclude and suddenly all jetways were single again.

So in my case, having a *single* jetway covered by a micro-exclude caused *all* the jetways at the airport to be doubled. Wow! Something to watch out for.

Thanks,

Tom,
there's a lot of airports that have this problem, i seem to remember we had the duplicate problem in the early days of ADE with KSEA, which was caused by deleting the tug under one of them
KLAS and EHAM i also found to have a jetway problem, you only have the move a certain jetway to the left or right and they disappear
there are many others, as soon as a jetway disappears i know the fix, move the jetway back to where it was, can be a pain when trying to add an extra parking spot and jetway in that area

If you are working on KATL look at Gate C7 parking spot. Next to it is a mis-named parking spot Gate 7. If you correct it to C9 make sure the jetway changes number and then change the next gate from C9 to C11 etc.. If the Jetway does not change number you have to delete it and add it back.

There are 2 12's ---- Gate C12 and a Gate 12
There are 2 17's ---- Gate C17 and a Gate 17
