• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 KRSW

Thanks! I am really liking how well the base layers have come out. The different color asphalts are using 1024x1024 textures that has been mapped to 30x30 meters.

Got a lot done today...right side taxiway alongside the runway is completely done, and the area near 24 is also done (as far as the base layers go)

Thanks! It's really cool to see the progress of this, and I am looking forward to redoing GCFV, EDDN, and my hometown airfield of ETEJ.

Added the alpha channels back in to see what it would look like...Need some refining of the base color polys but for the most part it looks pretty impressive!

@Airbasil I don't know if it would be compatible as that is for FSX whereas mine is for FS9....I would assume there would be no issues....

Made some pretty good progress in that last couple of days...Cargo ramp is complete (Have to work on mapping size) GA and Cargo taxi way is also complete.

Looks good, good work, good effort...

But..

Why FS9? your system is better than mine.. waste of time if you ask me! Wouldn't you rather learn and test your talents on the NEW sim using the new engine with a LOT more possibilities and a much better visual result.... you FS9 developers really do intrigue me.

It's ok, developers are starting to give up on FSX now too - each to their own I just find it a bit of a waste learning an almost 20 year old game engine/SDK.

Like I said though, I like what I see so far, regardless of the version. Do not make it sound like I'm taking shots at someones work when I'm not. There are probably a couple hundred (if that) that play FS9 but think what you will.

Great to see such a promising scenery coming up for FS9. Thank you, Nater. Hope you are having fun while developing...

No worries @Airbasil I am going to keep plugging away at it!

@Aviasim , I tried FSX and immediately uninstalled it. I have spent way to much time and money into my FS9 to get it the way I like it. I develop for FS9 because I want to. Honestly getting sick and tired of the whole "My sim is better than your sim, because it is new and shiny!" I am almost 40 years old, and I run off the premise of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

But that's exactly what you are doing actually... :):D

If you say so, maybe learn to decipher a sentence, so I'll try again: Good work Nater, looks nice though it's a shame you don't develop for P3D as you'll get much better results and perhaps easier...!

If going ‘forward’ to p3d and the same washed out graphics and cartoon clouds as fsx is a ‘much bette result’, I’ll stay in FS9 thank you. :)

VOZ 1.8 (released a decade or more ago?) was added to the flightsim.com library a only a few months ago and already has nearly 1000 downloads.

Spent most of today doing the taxi lines for the GA/Cargo side. Did them in 3dsMax then ported them over to Gmax....Pretty happy with the way they turned out so far. Love the nice clean curves.

Now that is quality workmanship. Very nice indeed.

Thanks for the encouragement guys! Means a lot! @gaputz I will probably be picking your brain when it comes to lighting and building placements and such... Re-adjusted the concrete pad and the black asphalt as it did not match with the lines between the cargo building and apron.
