• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

LOM setup

This is about setting up Library Object Manager (LOM) using your pdf documentation. I have set up everything as instructed to this point.
Referring to Tutorial 2 "Creating a Database of Objects", importing first objects.
Navigate to FS folder, then to Scenery>Generic>Scenery. This is a dead end.
FSX does not have "Generic" under the Main Scenery folder.
This must be for FS9. What about the route for FSX?
I would like to capture the Object library in FSX for use of these objects in FS9.
Can the FSX Object library be imported into LOM?
Would appreciate your answer.
Zeb Gardner

I would need to check the documentation. However you cannot use FSX objects in FS9. Also there is a separate version (2.0 beta) that supports FSX.

Thanks for the reply, Jon.
Since you can not use FSX objects in FS9, is there a conversion process that can be used?
For example; a favorite FSX hanger that is not available in FS9.

Jon,
Installing Beta 2.0
Referring to Tutorial 2 "Creating a Database of Objects", importing first objects.
Page 27, top of page.
Navigate to FS folder, then to Scenery>Generic>Scenery. This, of course is referring to FS9.
What is the selection in the main Scenery folder for FSX?
You are probably in the process of making revisions to the installation pdf.
Reply when convenient,
Thanks,
Zeb

Not my area - someone from the modelling side might know

Scenery > Global > Scenery contains the stock objects for FSX as I recall
