• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Modifying apron in ADE

Hello

I begin to try using ADE to directly create FSX airport files.
(So far, I use afcad + SDE)
I need to modifiy an existing apron. I didn't find the way to do that.
Right-click Edit, only shows a window with some parmaeters, but I didn't find how to change, or add vertex.
Is there a way to do it with mouse, to drag , insert, delete vertex?

So far, I make those changes in SDE Apron box.

Thanks for answer. Pierrot - FMEP

I am currently implementing the functions to add, edit and delete Aprons, edge lights and boundary fences - should be available in the next version

Thanks! No problem, I'm waiting. I thought I did'nt find the method.

Other question: (not sure of accurate english words) when drawing paths, if I wand to make a "tree", how can I "stick" the node of new branches on the existing one (afacd did it automatically); here, when dragging a segment, I see that tehy are not "linked" together.

How to place a hold node (red one), to be stuck on the path, and not separate?

Thanks! Pierrot - FMEP

Well that should be automatic as in AFCAD. Provided that the name text of the path you want to add it to is visible then the node should be inserted into the path. In the same way when drawing a path you can start or end on an existing path. Again provided that you have the name of the path displayed (you need to be over the path line and not the surface - this is deliberate as some paths can be close together)

ADE does not actually require you to select an object - you just have to have it's name tag displayed when you carry out an action. I plan to add a positive selector (that is a click to change the color of an object to show it is selected) and this will probably be needed for some things like aprons, edge lights and boundaries. Also to handle multiple selections. However for single items it is faster to not require that selection click before carrying out an action.

I hope that makes sense :)
