MiG-15Bis Mod Update Version 1.2
Characteristic:
1, Prepar3D V4.4+ aircraft exterior and virtual cockpit models support PBR material
2, Prepar3D aircraft model supports combined cockpit light system with attached spot lights and flood lights
3, Prepar3D and FSX aircraft modules support weapon systems (via VRS TacPack for Prepar3D Academic/Professional, FSX SP2 and Steam Edition or Prepar3D Professional Plus's built-in weapon capabilities)
4, New aerodynamic characterization model that implements a unified aerodynamic model from FSX, Prepar3D and MSFS2020 platforms
5, New aircraft exterior model, modified part of the aircraft structure and animation settings
6, New control logic, so that the key mapping function can be operated in the cockpit and the aircraft exterior view
7, 25 HD livery skins
Issues Fixed:
1, The air intake on aircraft 3D model has been modified to make its shape closer to the actual photo
2, The aircraft cockpit glass material reset, for rendering effect closer to the real glass effect
3, In the aircraft cockpit, the luminous material of the ultraviolet illumination instrument (the main flight instrument) repaint closer to the actual photo
4, Fixed the position error problem of some light sources in the aircraft external lighting system, and modified the parking position of the GPU car to avoid it wheel sink too much into ground surface
5, Add PBR material system to Prepar3D model and add bump material for the canopy frame model
6, Aircraft ejection seat animation modification, fixed the issue which conflict between the VRS ejection seat and the stock animation in aircraft model
7, Aircraft aerodynamic characteristics model modification, enhance the stability of the aircraft, and fixed issue for the true airspeed and indicate airspeed at high altitude indication, Add stall and spin characteristic
8, Fixed the fuel transfer sequence issues on the fuel automatic management system, to avoid the problem when setting fuel before or during the flight, fuel stop transfer from droptanks or rear tank
9, Fixed the payload reload issues, which can not be synchronous between 3D model and control logic gauge, follow 2 different processes
A: when using integrated kneeboard to reload the gun, press gun type tags 2 times, wait gun ammo quantity reloaded for firing
B: when reload the bomb or droptank, press payload type tags 1 to 2 times, after the corresponding payload mount icon appears, need to switch on droptank or bomb release circuit switch again
Additions and Changes:
1, On the aircraft configuration page of the integrated kneeboard, prompt tag of current transfer fuel tank has been added
2, When using the radio navigation page of the integrated kneeboard to set radio compass control box (ARK-5/K-7) current frequency, K-7 receive frequency from kneeboard and stop manual input from K-7`s frequency /band turning knobs. when
using K-7`s manual frequency input, kneeboard’s frequency selector must set to X position, or on blank frequency lines.
3, According to the user's suggestion, the function of manually changing the autopilot working procedure has been added, if it has necessary to use autopilot maintain altitude and heading when flying in the cruise route, Switch ON droptank circuit, Switch OFF droptank signal light switch, use any third-party or FS/P3D stock autopilot panel to control the autopilot function.
(I use the autopilot flight director calculation function to provide attitude and acceleration for the gyro sight, so the aircraft's autopilot system turns off all hold functions by default to avoid conflict issues with the aircraft's actual flying control characteristic)
4, The gyro sight algorithm modified to add the function of temporarily switching the gyro sight to a fixed reticle when opening the air brake/spoilers, added function of using the gyro reticle when shooting ground targets (it is recommended to still use the fixed reticle, or use a backup cross crosshair, to avoid the lag of gyro reticle cause error between aiming point and the bullet tracer, In VRS TacPack environment, it is necessary to use the fixed reticle aim to selected ground target first, then use any gun sight modes to shoot)
5, When shooting aerial targets, it can using all 3 modes include gyro or fixed reticle, or backup crosshair, when using fixed reticle or backup crosshair, the default convergence distance is 400 meters
6, The gyro reticle add the jump function during pursuit target to simulate the delay characteristics of the mechanical computer when the distance and angle change drastically
7, Gyro sight reticle brightness adjustment changed to 24 levels of continuous adjustment, the initial brightness is the brightest level, to facilitate the Prepar3D V5 when turning on enhanced atmospheric system rendering, to avoid reticle and background sky mixed up when contrast too small, in Prepar3D V4 or FSX versions, you can manually adjust to the appropriate brightness.
8, Increase acceleration of aircraft attitude change in each view camera, cause the perspective to shake and tremble, add the unique parameter setting function of Prepar3D in the Aircraft .cfg
9, Add limit for pitch /bank not than +/-45 degrees, and less than Mach 0.7 when release droptank/bomb from aircraft.
Install the upgrade
1. Download the V1.2 installer, save your own modified painting, etc. to a safety backup folder and then install V1.2 files to overwrite installed files.
2. If you want to use none PBR material model in Prepar3D, you can manually install the FSX version to the directory of Prepar3D, overwriting Prepar3D version PBR model and materials
Future developments
I am currently working on the unified development of the aircraft module for the MSFS2020 and Prepar3D version.
The MiG-15Bis mod will be the first product to be compatible with same compatibility features as much as possible cross multi-platform.
MiG-15Bis MSFS2020 version will be launched independently, and will be released soon.
