• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v5 Old topic - remove trees from airport

I am at present trying to remove trees from a version of EGQS. Following advice in a thread here, I have tried to use the "Add vector" to draw a polygon around the airport, and that seems to have completed, but then I want to get to the properties to remove the autogen, and I can't get that to work. I am using ADE 1.79 Dev.

And I have the same issue at KCOS.

How do you finish the poly? double click the last vertex or what?

I am not sure what you mean here, Jon.

I have tried various ways of making it. Tried to finish the polygon by placing the end of the last line of the polygon (I assume that is what you mean by vertex) on the start of the first line, tried to make the beginning of the first line and the end of the last line cross over each other, and when I double-click I keep getting a screen titled "Properties" with a small box that says "Terrain Vector", as in the attached screenshot.

You have the terrain vector line button pressed. This does not give you polygons, it gives you lines. I believe the correct button is the one to the left of that?

Tom, I could have sworn that in the thread mentioned above, it was what it said to do.

As you suggested, I tried the polygon button instead, and now things work - I don't try to run down trees on the runways when I try to take off from EGQS and KCOS.

Thanks much -

Jorgen
