• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

One click hangar

Hi Morton,

no, I have only 8 menus without plugins or "Erweiterung" ("Extensions" in German),
but there is a subfolder called "ShippedExtensions". Is this the subfolder for One Click Hangar?

Hi, the ShippedExtensions is not a part of One Click Hangar.
Are the One Click Hangar files located in %AppData%\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\Plugins\ folder?

I have all of the hangar, hangar1, 2 and 3 installed. When I run the Plugin it says there is a later version available. Is the hangar dev.zip on the first page the latest? How do I install the hangar dev.zip files? Do I just allow all of them to overwrite the older version files? I see a lot of new files that were not in the original version. I read somewhere in this thread that there was an option to use ft instead of cm. Does the dev version include this option? Sorry for all the questions but I am new to Sketchup. Bob.

Are there any other rb files in this folder? By default there should be a couple of rb files and some folders.

of course only those rb files of "One Click Hangar", because there was no "Plugins" folder before I created it.

For SketchUp 2014 and SketchUp 2015 the Plugins folder has to be in %AppData%\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\Plugins\ folder (e.g. c:\users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\Plugins\) and not under c:\program files\. Could you try to move the files to this folder and see if they appear in SketchUp?

Hi Bob,

The hangar dev, and hangar1, 2 and 3 zip files in the first post are the latest published files for the plugin. If you install hangar dev.zip, you do not need the files from hangar.zip.
The option for feet and inches has temporarily been removed from hangar dev.zip due to redesign of the dialogue boxes. I hope to put them back in soon.

nearly correct, thanks.
It was necessary:

c:\users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\Sketchup\Plugins\

But now all works fine!

thanks a lot

How do I create a standard hangar without doors?

I have achieved this in the past but I no longer seem to have the facility.

Using SketchUp 8.0.16846.

In fact I am totally confused.

Using this information:

Varietion in textures gives either stacked doors or no doors:

If I use red brick wall texture, no model is created.

Hi George. Hangar without doors isn't something I have implemented. If the doors aren't created with you select red brick wall, it could be due to a missing texture file. If you enable the Ruby Console from Window--Ruby Console, it should display an error when it fails to draw the door, which can help to identify the issue.

Do you wish to create a hangar with no doors or closed doors?
If you set the door folding level to 90, it will draw the hangar with a closed door (you can change the door type as well).
If you want to create a hangar with no doors, the best way at the moment is to create a hangar with the default doors, right-click it and select Explode. This will split the hangar into one object for the main hangar structure and one for the door structure. You can then select the door structure and delete it.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

With these parameters:

This is what the Ruby Window shows:

Error: #<NoMethodError: undefined method `size=' for nil:NilClass>
G:/One-Click-Hangar/Plugins/hangar.rb:779:in `standalone_hangar'
G:/One-Click-Hangar/Plugins/hangar.rb:775:in `each'
G:/One-Click-Hangar/Plugins/hangar.rb:775:in `standalone_hangar'
G:/One-Click-Hangar/Plugins/hangar.rb:80

No model is created and no mention of missing textures.

As I say, sometimes, depending on the texture selection, there are (open) doors, sometimes there are no doors and sometimes there is no model.

I have been able to create a row of hangars with brick walls.

Could you try to download the hangar dev.zip file from the first post in this thread. Just noticed you're using an older version of the One Click Hangar tool.

The latest development version should be compatible with SketchUp 8, however I suggest you take a backup of all the One Click Hangar related .rb/.och files before downloading the latest version.

I am not able to recreate the issue in the latest version of One Click Hangar, however I am using SketchUp Make 2015. Unfortunately I do not have SketchUp 8 on my new laptop and I believe it is no longer available on sketchup.com.

Please let me if it resolves the issue.

Edit: Forgot to say. If the latest version does not work on SketchUp 8, I'll do my best to resolve any compatibility issues, so you won't have to update to any of the later (and incredibly much slower) versions.

Hmm, exactly the same ruby output. (There were several different dialogs).

Should I update SketchUp?

Oops, just noticed I didn't select "No floor" in the texture option, and I get an error now, albeit a different one. Before trying with the latest SketchUp version, could you please try to select a texture for the floor?

Also, this may be a stupid question, but did you restart SketchUp after downloading the latest script files?

In the meantime I am going to fix the "No floor" error.

Err, yes.

I'll try selecting a floor texture. I am using photo-textures so I set the hangars at -0.1 metres, it shouldn't matter whether there is a floor or not.

I still don't understand why I get no doors.

Thanks, if you get the error again, could you please let me know what the Ruby Console output is, as the line numbers in the error above (775, 779 & 80) should be different.

OK,

With these textures:

The Ruby output is:

Error: #<NoMethodError: undefined method `size=' for nil:NilClass>
G:/One-Click-Hangar/Plugins/hangar.rb:660:in `standalone_hangar'
G:/One-Click-Hangar/Plugins/hangar.rb:656:in `each'
G:/One-Click-Hangar/Plugins/hangar.rb:656:in `standalone_hangar'
G:/One-Click-Hangar/Plugins/hangar.rb:34

and no model is created.

Thanks, I can recreate the error now when deleting the texture file for the red brick wall. Could you double-check you have the suht_brick_red.jpg file listed in the TextureFiles folder? If not, you can get the file by downloading Hangar 1.zip in the first post.
