• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Prepar3D v4 & ADE

Hello
I'm new to both Prepar3D v4 & ADE 1.76 but I used a lot FSX & AFX. Since P3D4 is a 64bit application it will be much much better than FSX (RIP).
I just can't make changes in a stock airport. I open it, work on it, save it to Projects, but there is no way of getting it to my Prepar3D v4 scenery.
How do I open a stock airport, work on it then send it back to Prepar3D v4?
Tks

ADE works differently than AFX. AFX saves and load from a bgl file. ADE uses project files which store a lot more data than the bgl file. So stated by RIDZ_YSSY you need to go to File > Compile and compile your work to bgl file(s). Make sure to set the path you need for the bgl file so that it goes to an active scenery folder in P3D v4. There is no Addon Scenery\scenery folder in P3D v4 so things are likely to be different compared to how you worked in FSX.

This article explains how to set compile options. https://scruffyduck.screenstepslive...68/l/255596-how-do-i-set-compile-options-1-65 Make sure also that you have set up ADE to use the P3D v4 SDK and compilers

I'm working a small airport in Brazil - SBAQ and decided to create 5 parking spots. Since I don't where to find SBAQ or how to substitute it for this work I created an Addon Scenery/Scenery folder inside main Prepar3Dv4.
I installed Prepar3Dv4 SDK in .../Lockheed Martin/Prepar3dV4 SDK folder.
To help you understand I have these printscreens of 1) ADE 1.76, 2) Prepar3Dv4 running (ADE is locked) & 3) Prepar3Dv4 SDK main
PS I went to your link but this ADE is something new and I have still a long way to master. Anyway it seems that I don't understand how to make an airport worked as an ADE project goes to Prepar3Dv4 scenery
Many thanks for your help (and a lot of patience too)

Hi,

You do not need to create a new folder in P3Dv4.
Just make a new folder in addon scenery and call it SBAQ (or whatever you want to call it), then add a scenery and a texture subfolder to it and then make sure that:
-first: save your airport as SBAQ in the project folder of ADE P3Dv4 and then...Shut down P3Dv4!
- Only now you compile the SBAQ and put it in the scenery folder you just created making sure that the compile options are pointed there.
And finally, activate the scenery in the scenery library of P3D.
It cannot be that difficult, can it?

Ok, will do it later since I need to shut down.
Anyway is it correct my ADE 1.76 settings?
And tks for helping me

I have not the faintest because I can not see what your ADE settings exactly are. But it looks as if they should be OK for a SBAQ.bgl in your addon scenery\scenery folder as long as you have activated that one in the P3D Scenery Library.
