• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

SAAB JAS39C/D

What kind of intel / facts /material do you need Frits? Perhaps I can help?

Anything I can get really. For instance I have totally forgotten the cockpit layout of the C-version, I remember bit of the E-version from sitting in a mock-up of it last year and speak to one of the test-pilots. This kind information seems hard to come by, or I'm not looking in the right places....

@Ronald Yes! Those images are exactly what I need! Thank you so much! Just one small remark... jsfnieuws.nl, what...? I remember the politician who when I asked about the JSF refered to it's competitor being "the F-35" (clearly didn't know the first thing about what he was supporting) ... Ah well let's not reverberate my opinion on the matter (again).
Thank you so much!

Hint: Most politicians do not know (by default) what they are talking about, since they choose to act as "military-industrial-complex-idea-sales-persons"

Thanks for the extensive info Ronald, I highly appreciate it. Currently I'm working on the rear-fuselage/engine nozzle which takes some time but I hope to show progress again soon. :)

I can tell you straight though, those pictures of avionics don't even tell you 10% of what goes on with those displays and how they work. The only to get that info is from the manual. I'm still looking for a way to get access to one from the SAAF here in South Africa.

Am not even talking about the contents of those displays yet, need have something to display it one before I can even think of that.
To add to it though, yes it very difficult to find any manuals for this aircraft. Although a lot of research done for the design of this aircraft is publicly available (in realm of papers published that is) but manuals are hard to get by.

Last edited:
with manual, make almost every aspect became:
more easier (although still need much effort) and
will zero assumption (no need to figuring out how something work/ should work, just learn the manual)
all will close to reality.

however, we should always move on with/without manuals

No right now it is pretty stagnated I'm afraid, all the work I do is pretty much on my A320...
So at the moment, no progress to report.

Beware when animating the main landing gear mechanism, it'll be frustrating to no end. (I speak from experience.)

Recollecting from my first attempt at the A350... yes very much so, constraints work to some extend as help but that's about all the help Blender gives :$
