• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

I’m having a problem on my ADE 170 since last two weeks: I cannot load ANY stock data.

I use ADE on Windows XP and FS9.

When I try it, the program gets frozen. I uninstall and reinstall several times but no success.

Any idea what’s wrong with it? Any help will be welcome.

If you don't have the extra Thumbnail Pack installed, it will take a LONG time to load airports. Please wait 15 minutes before assuming the program is frozen. You can download the Thumbnail Pack to avoid that if you like.

Thank for your usual help.
This situation never happened before. My question is: why now?

I have built several airports and never had difficulties to import stock data, when necessary.

In the other hand, Thumbnail Pack is 200 MB! It is so heavy.

I no longer support it since it is a very old version of ADE. I presume by Stock Data you mean stock airports. In that case I do believe that the missing data is probably not thumbnails but the model footprint database. I think this was introduced by 1.70. While ADE creates the footprints for the first time the airport can take many minutes to load. After time this speeds up. The alternative is to download the database. Go to your ADE 1.70 installation and check for a folder called Global. In there should be a file called

The size of this file is important and if you don't have something this big

Then you will be subject to slow loads until ADE generates all the footprints. You can download the file here http://www.mediafire.com/download/expvjbbzcieryyq/MFDB.zip The download size is about 150Mb. If that's too large then you can do with out it but live with slow loading for a while

The issue then arises that if you have been using ADE for a while - what happened to the database. Or perhaps you just installed 1.70?
