• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Suggestions for Future Versions 2

Also, locking objects should only keep it from moving accidentally, not keep you from editing. Double click to edit or via right click menu should work. Only item grayed out with lock in place should be coordinates.

That you can do now. Go to the General Options Tab and uncheck Locking Disables Editing,

More suggestions and ideas from me :D

When renaming a runway the ILS will follow which is great, but would it be possible to have the approaches do the same?
No idea if this is even possible to code...

At this time I have to go into each approach, rename it and set the runway on the last leg before missed. Working on O'Hare this takes a while when I rename 3 runways with 6 approaches (both ends) for each :p

It has been mentioned already I think and is certainly on the list.

Hi,

What I would like is when I press the + key to zoom in, that the airport doesn't wander all over the place but instead homes in on the current center of the screen. This works fine with the mouse wheel, but not with the keyboard.

Thanks,

Thanks,

It will zoom around the mouse position Tom so place that center screen and it will zoom on the center screen. This is the same for the mouse wheel. Zooms in/out on the mouse location. Unless that is you would see the +- keys force zoom around the center of screen while the mouse wheel zooms around the mouse location?

Jon, that would be a better option for those of us that use 2 monitors. We may have the mouse on the other one, but have ADE still active...we click the plus to scroll in and zooom. Happens to me often. Is a tad annoying.

Hi,

Yes, the whole idea of using the keyboard is to avoid having to reach for the mouse. I would indeed like them to work differently. Keyboard - zoom to center of the screen. Mouse - zoom to mouse position.

Thanks,

OK - added to the list :)

What about:

being able to build a scenery file that didn't contain an airport?

That way people could take an area and add roads, landclass, objects etc.

Well that is for sure something that could be done except that ADE is an Airport Design Editor ;) Also there are other tools like SBuilderX that do this now...

hello,
could we please have concrete walls for boundaries ?
thank you.

If you mean the boundary fences then ADE uses those that are available in FSX and that does not include a concrete wall.

FSX has a lot of flexibility. There are numerous airports with special modeled type walls that you can use.

If you select a default boundary fence you get wire as per FSX which is what ADE gives you. ADE also uses by default the FSX Blast Fence. In the ADE library of scenery you have other options for using concrete walls for boundary's or for blast fences.

When editing objects... an option for live preview would be really nice.

Example: Runways

When editing the markings on a runway, either IN the ADE editor window, or on a runway graphic in the edit properties window, when you click a box, the corresponding action would happen. Thus, allowing you to see what each change will actually do.

This would be great in almost all editing properties of all objects. But especially handy for the runways props. Great for lights, markings, as well as primary and secondary options.

Also, in this vain.... if a runway is too narrow to allow an option, have it turned off. For example, if your runway is 60 feet wide, you won't see some markings...even if you have them turned on.

Automatic addition of remaining distance markers on runways would be great if we wanted to add it to many runways and don't want to do a lot of calculation.

I like this idea.. Could be something like a distance marker guideline. You draw the guideline where you want it and it will automatically place the markers from 1 to X (x=the final whole thousand.)

That would be a very nice time saving tool.

It would be much, much easier if the crosshair circle for parking placement would change to fit the size of the parking: ex. when placing Ramp GA Small the crosshair circle is the size of the spot but when you go to add a Gate Heavy, the crosshair circle becomes larger to the size of a heavy gate. :)

Greg & Saiarcot895: I metioned that a while back and I think it is on the list on the front page;)
