• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Suggestions for Future Versions 2010

If you never use FS9 then you must have it installed otherwise ADE would load ADEX immediately without going through the version screen....
True, I still use FS9 because some of the aircraft I have are not FSX compatible but I never do any editing.

OK so I will add an option to force the version loaded to the future development list.

1. Add and edit special effects.
2. Delete or change multiple objects from the lists.
3. Download tiles or use geotiff images instead of entering corner coordinates.

and ... :)
4. All in one scenery design tool, not just for airport design but whole subjects with 3d model viewer.

Edit:
+. Convert FSX airports to FS9 airports.

Most of those (excluding 4) are on the development list :)

What I would like to do is be able to change the .MDL file path within the Model List. Sometimes when I 're-organize' my files, etc, the MDLs get moved to a different folder. When this happens, I have to delete all placed models from the airport, then I have to delete from the list. I then have to re-enter the MDLs into the list, and have to then replace all models. :o

That is a very good point Michael. Would you like to add it to the Issue Tracker - www.issues.scruffyduck.org.uk as an enhancement and we will look at it :)

Here's a thing badly needed for both ADE and SBuilder:

The preview window for selecting a landclass texture needs to get larger! It is way too small, and because of that what I see is never what I get, it is pure guesswork, trial and failure, tons of FS restarts, a real nuisance!

Hope you can make like I click in the thumbnail window and get a bigger (let's say around 1200x750) preview :)

This I need real bad :D

Cheers,

OK - I hear you ;)

I guess you can see this was born out of very recent frustration ;)

If I remember correctly, the preview window shows only a part of the texture, and those textures are not even, plus I have to use that good'ol magnifying glass to try to guess what's in that window.

Thanks a ton! :)

Ability to change the elevation of a custom airport (as opposed to a default FSX airport) without writing a stub to Scenery\World\Scenery.

Rename or Delete Files

I'm sorry if I missed this suggestion, but I would like to see the option of renaming or deleting ADE/AFX/AFCAD files for the same airport. I have downloaded many airport files and some airport files have come with addon sceneries, both payware and freeware. And, with the ones I've tweaked in ADE, some airports have two or more different files. I have FSX Airport Scanner, but it would nice if some of its functions could be incorporated into the next version of ADE.

That is certainly something we are looking at.

Well IMHO, I think that would be a good feature to keep from having to hassle over a stubborn link that won't match to the runway.;)

There will be a way to do it in the next release ;)

That works just as well! :D Also, any "prediction" for when the next release will be? Or would you rather not tell it to save yourself a whole lot of people asking the release date? It's up to you ;)

I got three thinks that might be interesting.

1. Guideline copy/paste ability

2. Guideline offset. When you make one guideline, it would be very interesting if it had the possibility to make a couple of offsets to each side of that guideline at a certain distance.

3. There are a whole lot of things predefined by ICAO standard. Ain't it possible to incorporate those ICAO standards.
For instants the guideline offset. One could think of a guideline offset preset for the holdshort nodes. There is prescribed at what kind of distance of the centerline of the runway they should be.
There are also a whole lot of prescribed taxiway width and runway width.
