• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Terrain showing through airport.

Hello, I am trying to edit Area51 however for whatever reason in this one particular area, the terrain below the ground is showing up over the taxiway and i'm not sure how to fix it. As you can see in the sim it seems like there are multiple taxiway line being generated in that spot even though it doesn't show up in ADE. I tried adding a custom polygon to flatten the area and exclude the mask, with no luck.

So any ideas on what might cause this or how I can fix it?

Thanks

Do you have draw surface set for the taxiways?

Try moving the taxiway nodes a bit in that area and see if it fills in.

Do you have any other addons for the area?

The only other addon I have is some satellite scenery for the area, but in the P3D scenery library the airport is set to a higher priority. I also just noticed that another area of the airport is not showing up correctly, which I think is due to some textures from the stock version which I deleted in ADE still showing up . As you can see in the pics, there are textures showing up in the sim which do no show up when viewing the airport in ADE. I checked the scenery library and as far as I see I can only see 1 version of the airport and have already tried deleting it and recompiling it and adding back into P3D with no luck as well as moving the nodes around.

It appears to me you have more than one ADE BGL file present in your scenery. Look for a duplicate file, perhaps with a slightly different name.

Thanks, I didn't have a chance to update this post, but I was able to resolve the second issue. I had changed the ICAO code of the airport awhile back and was told I had to compile a version of the airport with everything deleted and one with the changes I made, and somehow the empty one got deleted. So that fixed the one issue, but I still have trouble with that one spot where the terrain/mesh is showing through the taxiway.

If moving the nodes around didn't help, I haven't got an idea on that one.
