• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I noticed that the last days the site is down now and then. I have already filed a support ticket at the webhost and I hope they can fix it soon.

Some ups and downs from time to time; now it's fine in my end.

Arno,
Thank you kindly.

I don't think it is solved yet. I have had no response from the host yet.

I know, I noticed myself as well and send another message to the webhost company about it.

They said before that they see that the server sometimes is very busy and that some process needs to restart due to that. But they also say that such a reboot should only result in a few seconds of down time and that is not what we see. The site is difficult to reach for much longer.

I can always get in but is considerably slow - pages are taking 5 minutes or more to load. England.

I can't imagine why sohosted, com would willingly engage in false advertising:

https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=nl&u=https://www.sohosted.com/&prev=search

Otherwise, if in fact fsdeveloper.com already has been the recipient of:

"Enthusiastic service
+ Fast response time
+ Personal contact
+ Individual solutions
+ Flexibility
Fair services
+ No hidden costs
+ No extra invoice afterwards
+ Extensive packages
+ Honest advice
Good quality
+ Reliable network
+ Fast servers
+ Smart IT people
+ Innovative"

...one might wonder what else is the basis for this recurrent and ongoing problem.

https://www.feverbee.com/platforms/xenforo/

https://www.dreamhost.com/blog/how-to-fix-slow-website/

If sohosted actually responded "Fast" as advertised, one might wonder whether there is another issue that Arno must fix himself ...involving how XenForo is being used:

I suppose truth might be forthcoming if complaints were filed with appropriate authorities. :scratchch:

And I believe most would-be participants prefer to not impose tasks onto Arno's preferred priority list.

Unfortunately, this recurrent and ongoing problem will make fsdeveloper seem to be "fsdeplorable".

Unless fsdeveloper has a goal of not being taken seriously, this would be something to fix ASAP.

I have send another email to the hosting company this evening, since I also think it takes too long.

As far as I know now it is a problem on their side, since the website worked fine until about a week ago and I did not change a thing.

I've got in to the site now with no problem, but for the past several days it's been almost impossible from my UK end at any time.

Yes, fingers crossed. This morning it was still slow, but now it seems normal again.
