• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Parking airline color code

I am not sure what you mean. There are no colors for airlines in FS. If you add an airline code to a parking spot in ADE then the color of the spot will change based on the parking specs data file. The color used is for the first airline code assigned to the spot.

ADE works the same way as AFCAD did. The color is assigned to the Airline code

Using notepad open the parkingspec.dat file in the ADE FSX folder. Add the new airline in the list and assign the RGB color

Example

Delta Air Lines,255,30,0,110,DAL

name of airline Delta Air Lines
dark blue color 255,30(R),0(G),110(B)
airline code DAL

This may help you

AIRLINE CODE LETTER WITH NUMBERS:

A - 0
B - 10
C - 20
D - 30
E - 40
F - 50
G - 60
H - 70
I - 80
J - 90
K - 100
L - 110
M - 120
N - 130
O - 140
P - 150
Q - 160
R - 170
S - 180
T - 190
U - 200
V - 210
W - 220
X - 230
Y - 240
Z - 250

Start with 255, then numbers corresponding to the letters separated with a comma as Jim's example shows

I am assuming that if you want your parking spots semi-opaque you would decrease the leading 255?

cheers,
Lane

Double click your parking spot to highlight it when the properties pops up click on "All Airlines" Menu,
scroll down the menu list to find Air Canada Jazz, click the + to add it, if it has the old ACAX then you need to change it to JZA
to do this go to your main ADE folder and in FSX look for the "parkingSpecs" DAT file, open it with notepad and add it to the list or change it
this is how my list looks:

Air Canada,255,0,20,0,ACA
Air Canada Jazz,255,90,250,0,ACAX
Air Canada Jazz,255,90,250,0,JZA

I kept the old code as you can see

Sorry I am just coming in to this. Are you saying that after you add airline codes to a parking spot in ADE that the parking spot does not take the color of the first airline added? If so can you provide some screen shots. If this is an airline that is not in parkingspecs.dat then try using one that is and see if the color changes. Also if you are editing parkingspots.dat please edit the one in the correct sub folder inside the ADE main folder.

The color code is listed but color does not show on airport parking space diagram.
Air Canada Jazz (JZA)

Parking
How do I change color.

Since the early days of AFCAD (FS2004) JAZZ has always been
Air Canada Jazz,255,90,250,0,JZA
The problem with that RGB, it is very similar to the FS default green when no code is placed in the parking spot. That makes it appear the code JZA did not make a color change.

If you don't like the JZA green then open the parkingspec.dat file in the ADE FSX folder and change the numbers 90,250,0 so a new color will show.

If you want the parking spot JZA color to be the same as Air Canada then change the numbers to Air Canada Jazz,255,0,20,0,JZA

The JAZZ (JZA) parking spot will now be a very Dark Green

Have a look in ADE/FSX main folder and see if you have a file named "parkingSpecs" DAT File, it should be around 242KB in size
you can open it with Notepad
I also have a "parkingSpecs_base" DAT File in the same folder (240KB in size)

Files installed per ade_165_full.exe
Not in main folder but in sub folder:
F:\Installed FSX_Apps \ Airport Design Editor _165_full \ FSX \ parkingSpecs_base.dat
Again..ALL AIRPORTS LISTED as installed, I did not edit, move any files.

And do you have a file called "parkingSpecs" DAT in there with it?
i don't think the one you mention has air canada Jazz listed in it, I'm not at my PC so i cant check

No not parkingSpects_base.dat. That is not the one ADE will use - you need parkingSpecs.dat The base file is included for new installations. Once ADE starts for the first time then if parkingSpecs.dat is not found it will copy the base data over. So the file is parkingSpecs.dat.

If you are saying that you are not seeing any parking spot colors then please upload the project file to a post here so that I can check it.

Ok lets start over..
I did a complete re-install of Windows 7 and ADE Pro v01.65.5533
now runs without the Ariel Narrow ---REGULAR error. But
I get the FONT Missing error "Arial Narrow Bold"
That was supposed to be fixed some time ago

Next issue:
Airline Parking color codes.
I don't have any PROJECT'S started.
When I load a default airport (KDEN) none of the airline parking color codes are there JUST default green.

George has answered the parking code problem - no stock airport have airline codes assigned so they will all be green in ADE. The AFCAD picture you show is a modified airport.

I do not understand the problem with Arial Narrow Bold since that was indeed fixed some time back. The font is embedded into ADE so it does not need to look for any external font. However this does not help you. Please send me the log: https://scruffyduck.screenstepslive...8/l/263713-how-do-i-send-you-the-ade-log-1-65 and also for the avoidance of doubt please post a screenshot of the error message you are getting.

Can you confirm whether or not ADE is drawing runway numbers?

Can you confirm whether or not ADE is drawing runway numbers?
Hope this is what you requested
This a ORBX BGL CYPR
The dark blue parking is something Orbx did.
The default is the one I'm trying to change to JZA or at this point to any color.
By the way, thanks for your patients.

Make sure you are using ALL CAPS when you enter your parking codes, lower case letters do not work.

And Jon, his picture should have runway 13 numbers and it doesn't.

cheers,
Lane
