• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ADE ADE Version 1.79.7410 Dev is released. Supports P3D v5

Taxi points, aprons and parking spots can have an altitude in v5 for sloping airports. If you check a v5 stock airport you will see that the altitude is set to the airport reference altitude, This raises two issues - first changing the airport altitude in v5 will need all these set to the new reference and second loading a project file earlier than v5 means I will probably need to set these altitudes. when the project is first loaded in v5

Is the stock airport Courchevel LFLJ missing some objects? I've got a bunch of black squares with a variety of GUIDs just NE of the runway. The only reason that I looked at this airport is that it has sloped features. If no one else is seeing this, I may have to reinstall P3d5 as there must be a library file missing somewhere. I perused the OBX file that corresponds to this location (OBX49150.bgl) and none of the GUIDs are in that file.

Jay - There are a bunch of new objects and I am pretty sure that not all of them are in the LOM. That's probably why you are seeing blakc boxes. Not that there is a missing library in the sim. I presume this is what you are seeing?

Yes. Thanks. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't something wrong with my p3d5 install. BTW, landing anything except a hang glider at this airport is almost impossible. And then when you do, the fuel trigger is unreachable!

I suspect that it is going to take the community some time, effort and grief to make properly working sloped airports............

Hi,
I try to make a slopped runway but my terrain is flat.

Should i have a look at how to make a custom mesh or there is something else that i can do ? for example custom ground poly in ADE ?

I have mostly figured it out in ADE, if you give me a couple of days I can put together a how to. The basics are easy but getting everything to work corrector is trial and error.
In general the Runway slope is determined by The Tunway Link idicator. Taxi ways by the Taxi Links. Then use the Flatten Polygons in small sections to build up the ground around it.

I have a question.

Let say the airport default altitude is 35ft (10.668m as per the real airport information) and some of the taxiway and runway points are below 35ft (ex: taxiway 9.84ft, runway at some point are 31.9ft), what should we put at the airport default Altitude?

When I put the default 35ft I am having this problem.

Download P3Dv6 SDK here:

[EDITED]

If you do actually have P3Dv6 'properly' installed:

When installing P3Dv6 SDK, allow it to use its own internally assigned Drive / Folder Paths; this by default will be in:

C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v6 SDK 6.1.10.31609\

After P3Dv6 SDK is installed, ADE should find this SDK automatically when it starts up ...IF you actually have P3Dv6 properly installed.

ADE Startup Mode Prompt > Choose: P3Dv6

FYI: If ADEv1.79x has no startup Mode for P3Dv6, bear in mind that ADE was only partially compatible with P3Dv5 when Jon retired.

I do not have P3Dv5 or P3Dv6 installed, so you may- or may not- find that ADE can work with all features / requirements of P3Dv6.

...You can 'try' this, however:

If you do not have P3Dv6 'properly' installed, or it is not actually installed on your computer:

...Select a P3D numeric version that is installed.

Then, navigate:

ADE Menu > Tools > New User Wizard > Complete / Verify / Update Info In All Sequenced Dialog Boxes > {Folders} > Use P3Dv6 paths:

SHP2VEC Compiler Path: C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v6 SDK 6.1.10.31609\World\Terrain\SHP2VEC.exe

BglComp Path
: C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v6 SDK 6.1.10.31609\World\Scenery\BglComp.exe

If you do not actually have a version of P3D installed, your ability to use ADE with P3D SDK may vary with each P3D SDK version chosen.

Generally speaking, most- but not all- FSX scenery made in ADE using P3Dv1.4x SDK will still display in all P3D versions.

This comes up when I start ADE

OK, so what FS versions are actually offered to you by the ADE "Choose FS Version" pick-list on your computer when ADE starts up ?

You must click the "down arrow" icon in the pick-list to the left of the [OK] button, and 'choose' a FS version from the list displayed.

I don't get a choice. It will not show anything.

So, are you saying that the ADE pick-list is empty, and there are not any FS Versions displayed within the area of the pick-list dialog box ?

PS: Based on your post history here and elsewhere, you were using FSX Stem Edition (aka: "FSX_SE"); is it still installed on your computer ?
