• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Latest alpha which supersedes all existing alphas. If you have an existing alpha 15 or l6 then use the installer to update the existing installation. If you have an earlier alpha or have not installed ADE 2020 before then create a new installation.

On the second tab you can set the installation folder

Either use Browse to navigate to you existing installation main folder or edit the entry for a new installation

Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/y5kkhrxz26ek52c/ade_2020_alpha_17_installer.zip/file

Note that support for issues related to alpha 16 or earlier is ceased. Please do read the pdf notes which are updated for each alpha

Thanks for your continued support and feedback

Good news!
However - when installing over the former installation (16 in this case) I seem to remember needing to choose this library with the conseqence that alpha version 17 would be installed in a library declaring alpha 16. And changeing the number (to not to be bewildered later on - I´m over 70 :) ) confuses ADE.

Can this be fixed?

Regards,

Tommy

I think you are saying the if you update your Alpha 16 installation then the folder name is not changed and stays 16 although the contents are now alpha 17 or is it something else?

Yes, extactly that the folder name is not changed. (And I thought I explained so clearly.)

just change the name. I would remove the number so the folder is ADE 2020 alpha.

In my observation of airports Asobo have simply lettered the taxiways randomly with A-Z with no regard for the actual taxiway designation. It would be most helpful if you could provide a rename option that would change the taxiway designation along with the corresponding taxiway signs. It would need to provide a fail safe warning if you changed the letter to one that already exists.

@SMWilliams. You can rename a full taxiway by going to list mode. Next, sort the list by taxiway name(A,B...). Then select the specific taxiway letter and edit. ADE also has a group select shortcut which you can use to select all the taxiway links in a taxiway.

There is also a utility for validating taxiway sign integrity but it has not be updated for MSFS:

Hi, I am trying to change the taxiway designators on the taxiway Path to match my airport, however I can not get above letter K. The primary route from the Air Carrier apron is Taxiway L. Can more letters get placed in your pull down? I need up to Taxiway N at KLGB for the new layout.

Why not - have you added the designators you want into ADE first?

I am clicking on the actual taxiway path lines, and changing it in there. That is where I get the designator pull, down. Sounds like I am missing a step...? or need to do that another way?

Yes - that will only show you designators that already exist. As per my post above you need to click on the small + button next to the drop down box that lists existing designators and add one you want to the dialog. So if you need N and you do not have it then enter it here and save it and N should become available for you to use

Great, I will check that out.
Do you know if the painted mandatory hold position markings will be something that can be edited? I saw it on the SDK for msfs, but not familiar with it as much as ADE, since I used to use this in P3D. Although, still need to learn, adding taxiway designators :)
