• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ADE Version 1.67.5684 Released

I have just released a bug fix update for ADE which should address some of the current reported bugs and issues:

Fixed
  • [11146] CTD caused by ADE not reading the current country information correctly in some circumstances
I have started a new project in Morocco: Bouarfa GMFB N32 ° 30.86 // W001 ° 58.70. In Airport Proprierties I have in Region Id "DA"; I believe that the correct Region id is "GM".

Thanks you for your update.

Thanks for the report. The entry under fixed is for a bug not related to the generation of Region Data. This appears not to be a stock airport so you are saying that the RegionID as determined by ADE is wrong?

Yes, this is not an airport in the library of FSX. Field Region Id is a non-editable field of the Airport Proprieties. So I think, this is just the process of elaboration of ADEX.

ADE searches for the closest nearby airport or waypoint or navaid to the location you set and uses that value. Of course it could get it wrong if the airport was close to a region boundary or in a sparsely populated area.

This is the error I get when I try to connect .

I'm now updated my ADE to version 1.67 and tried to modify my AFCAD again but when I try to open runway lists in order to add crosswind runways the program gave me an error as follows:
System.NullReferenceExeption: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at ScruffyDuck.AirportDesignEditor.Listers.Lister.<>c.<ProcessRunwayList>b_58_0(Object rowObject)
at BrightIdeasSoftware.OLVColumn.GetImage(Object RowObject)

how can I solve it??

There is problem with transparency of aprons in version 1.67.

In the earlier version (1.65), the transparency of aprons can be adjusted along with the taxiways in the same type of surface.
However, in version 1.67, only the taxiways are adjusted and the aprons remain unchanged.

As per page 308 of the manual, the O (oh, not zero) key and Shift+O control apron transparency.

Select the apron and press Shift+O to increase transparency.

cheers,
Lane

This is a known bug that we are trying to find and fix. Is it repeatable?

Yes, I've read about that at the help section.
That works for each individual apron but not a general adjustment.

I wonder if the feature will be fixed in the later version since it makes editing more convenient. :)

I am not sure what you refer to since we have not changed the color settings or transparency arrangements in many years. You can set the color for surfaces in Setting > Colors which includes transparency and affects all items that use the surface as I recall.

Yes, that's the option I referred.

The attachment in my previous post is the screen shot of version 1.67.
I've adjusted the transparency of "concrete" and "asphalt" from 255 to 127, but as the screen shot, it only worked to taxiways, not aprons.

In the earlier version (sorry, that's version 1.61 I tried, not 1.65 as mentioned), the option changes the transparency for both taxiways and aprons.

Setting the transparency for aprons, polys, etc. differ from how ADE sets the transparency for taxiways.

For aprons, polys, etc. see Lane's post above (read page 308 of the ADE manual)

For taxiways, etc. use the color settings.

Hi, I also got the error ennis reported when I clicked the Compile button. It started after I tried to add a texture to a building for a custom airport I made with the Add Custom Ground Poly Tool. I have attached a screenshot of the error I got. According to the statistics menu, I have six Custom GP Polys. I would assume that this error occurred when I added the texture to the helipad, as this was the only thing I changed before the error message. I don't understand why ADE won't let me delete the polys that it is upset about, or why I can't access a list of all of the polys in the project. I thought about deleting the BGL file that the airport was located in, but I knew that would open a huge can of worms. Any help any of you can provide is appreciated - I worked really hard on this project!

Regards,
Kevin Davis

Try editing all of your ground polys, and just clicking OK. Then try to compile.
