• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

AIFP3 not detecting p3d

Hello,

I am trying to install AI Flight Planner to use with P3d v4 but get the error message "No version of Flight Sim found in System Registry. AIFP cannot continue and will now shut down"

I have tried numerous fixes such as a one that says changing an aifp.ini file but i couldn't get myself to find it and resolve the issue. Any help would be much appreciated

The AIFP.ini is located in the main folder of the AIFP.
and within it, it should appear something like this:

Path to P3Dv4=C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4
Path to P3Dv4 SDK=C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 SDK 4.5.14.34698

AIFP expects to find certain registry items set for each version of Flightsim installed. That AIFP didn't find the item for PV4 suggests PV4 was not installed in the normal manner. I hope the aifp.ini bypass works for you

Yes, I can't seem to find the"AIFP.ini" file in the AIFP folder.

I would like to note that I've installed P3D into my D: Drive. I was wondering if that is the issue here.

The AIFP.ini file is created the first time AIFP successfully runs. But, in your case, it never successfully runs. Just create a text file with the two entries noted by Pyscan, and save it to AIFP\aifp.int
 
Still can't get it to work unfortunately ._.
Here is the text file I've created, and I still get the same error message.

Double check the location of your v4 path. It shouldn't be ** Program Files (x86) **.
