• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 Birds air Route Puttgarden<->Rødbyhavn with EKMB Maribo Airport

I think it's time for another intermediate stage in the development of the Birds Air Route (Vogelfluglinie).

In the meantime, the Puttgarden scenery is also well advanced and almost finished. Only the seasonal textures are missing. Here are some pictures from the current summer:

View from the visitor car park to the port centre and the ferry terminals:

Here is the view in the other direction - from the port center to the waiting area for trucks and cars and to the station:

View over the platforms of Puttgarden station:

Also for those who like railway nostalgia there is something to see:

The parking lot directly in front of the Portcenter. Here you don't see German cars but 99% Swedish cars coming here for shopping, because in Germany they only pay 20% of what they would have to pay in Sweden for brandy, sweets, beer, coke and perfume:

Panoramic view from the wooden pedestrian bridge between the car park and the railway station in the direction of the ferry terminal:

On a platform at Puttgarden station. From here, freight and passenger trains also take the ferry to Scandinavia:

Since I was in Puttgarden especially for photos, I could also recreate the entrance of the port center to the original:

During the work it occurred to me that Rodbyhavn actually includes the small airfield "Maribo" (EKMB). So I decided to "tidy up" this airport a bit. Mind you, I didn't rebuild it, but made it a little more attractive with the actual buildings. The default AFCAD remains.

Here are a few more pictures of EKMB:

Next time more!

Oh my goodness! I can't even think how complicated should be keeping track on every single detail; this is a colossal amount of work and the result is absolutely beautiful. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Amazing!
Kindest regards,
Sergio.

The release date for the Vogelfluglinie / Birds Air Route has shifted towards Christmas.

The reason for this are the license prices for the bottom pictures for Rodbyhavn and Puttgarden. Since the licenses are pricelessly expensive, I decided to DRAW the floor pictures for both scenes myself. That's a lot of work, of course, and you have to work very hard to make sure that the picture fits into the landscape.

In the last two months since my last post, I have experimented a lot to find a solution to the problem that is not only workable, but also looks good. I think that I have now found a way and have finished in this way the bottom picture for Puttgarden and surroundings. Below you can see some comparison pictures. On the left you can see the self-drawn ground pictures and on the right the photo ground pictures made with SBuilderX.

I would like to know what you think of the drawn versions.

Why experimental? The ICE is real and the standard configuration always consists of two connected trains.
The train in the scenery is however an older model of the ICE ;)

You're right, most ICE versions are haf length and often come in pairs.
However, compared to the ICE 3 picture you just showed your model resembles much more the experimental ancestor:

Especially judging by the hard transition of the roof shape between the passenger coaches and the engines, the ancient ICE logo and the fact it has exactly three coaches.

Right, you never said you didn't like it.
But when modern hybrid ferries sails in the scenery, the trains shouldn't be from the 1980s. :D
Your comment made me aware of this breach of style so that I could correct it.
Thanks you for that.

Well, technically, you'd need an ICE TD, not an ICE 3, since Denmark's rail network is hardly electrified. :duck:

But that doesn't make much of a difference on the outside. Only the current collectors are missing on the ICE TD. I don't think that is decisive in the scenery.

See Dave's reply.
But don't worry, I'm just puling your leg a bit. This is a flight simuator and not a train simulator after all. And it's your scenery, so just do whatever makes you happy. :)

Great job... I have spent a lot of time on Fehmarn and have been across on the ferries countless times. The diesel-powered ICEs look so much like the 3 with no pantograph, that your version is more than adequate... at least I think so

It will be nice to see this in sim soon... thanks for all the effort.

Thank you Andrew,
but in order to do justice to the reality enthusiasts, I have replaced the ICE3 with the ICE TD of the class 605 in the meantime. ;)

The next steps are now to draw own realistic ground images for Rødbyhavn and Maribo Airfield (EKMB).

This addon consists of 3 sceneries: Puttgarden, Rodbyhavn and the upgraded default airfield Maribo (EKMB)

Released in SimMarket

Congratulations. A fantastic scenery with nice détails for Mr. Avatar to visit including the stall selling Fisch Brötchen :D And a nice video too... The screaming seagulls immidiately reminded me of taking the ferry from Rødby to Puttgarden with my granddad and grandmother when I was a kid. The best was to stand on the deck and feed the seagulls gliding along the side of the ferry.

Hello, Henrik,
in the simulator you can hear the seagulls only if you are outside the plane but I think they give us "northern lights" nevertheless some magic :wizard: of homeland feeling .
Landlubbers can't understand that. From my beta testers came the objection that the seagull cry was annoying :D
