• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Free SODE Jetways

I am working on an airport in Northern Germany. When I activate OrbX Germany North, all jetways disappear. Holger Sandmann told me, that this is due to the OrbX exclude and a long time unresolved P3D bug.

Since I am already using SODE at the airport I was thinking about replacing the default jetways with SODE jetways. Two questions:

I have failed to find any freely available SODE jetway. Is there none?
Say I would find a model... does the default SODE functionality is enough to make the jetways work or would I need to buy this commercial SODE addon?

Thank you. As I said, I already use SODE for animated wind socks and jet ways.

My question is if there are jetway models available that I can use for free.

All models I have found are licensed for usage with a commercial scenery.

Hey Martin,

I don't know a thing about SODE, but would SODE jetways from a commercial scenery package work? Or do you HAVE to have the commercial scenery package that they were made for? If you don't have to have the commercial package that the SODE jetways were made for, and do not intend to repackage the jetways in your own commercial package (at least without permission from the author). Then maybe these will help you?

If not, you might be stuck creating your own. It seems there a a few devs that use GSX and others that create their own, because they don't want to see the standard for animated SODE jetways be restricted to just GSX.

Sorry I can't be more help.

The answer is yes, there are SODE jetways as part of freeware airports, but they are still the intellectual property of the developer. You can't use them in an airport that you create and circulate that airport publicly, unless you get permission from the author. You could however circulate such an airport and tell people where to get the SODE jetway MDL file.

Thank you!

I have tested everything with several jetways that could be downloaded. All work perfectly fine with the exception of those from Euroairport (LFSB).

I will play around with them some more because they are especially nice and EAP is the next airport to where I am located.

Thanks for the briefing!
