• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 (FSX & X-Plane 10) Bell 429: she is slowly getting some shapes

The performance on Sergio's latest work is better then the original in terms of frame rates. Reducing the vc cockpit entries in the panel cfg from 11 to just 2 has helped tremendously in getting great frame rates once he releases this model and will help with the FSX conversion as well. For being his first helicopter for flight simulator and a quite complex helicopter, he has really done very well, a big step up from creating sound packages for various helicopters including my Bell 222 and Sikorsky S76 :) Also credit goes out to @Nater and @Bluebell for their contributions in this project as well, you guys absolutely are amazing

I agree George, Sergio has come a long way with this project which is becoming more impressive every day.
Nater, Bluebell, and yourself have contributed a lot to this project as well, and it is shaping up to become one of the finest freeware helicopter packages ever released.

I for one am looking forward to the FSX version with great anticipation, and I thank you for all of your hard work in advance.

Cheers George
Gary

Hi there!

I am sorry for not being working on the 429 (real life are demanding sometimes...). I've on the HEMS version and this is what I have so far:

Also, I have the seat belts in place for each configuration (in what George would call "hangar mode" :p). Among a lot of things, I need to reposition those belts for each pilot and passenger position when they are "in flight" :yikes::yikes::yikes:

I hope you like it,
Sergio.

Hey Sergio,

That is all looking very fine, you're doing a great job!

Why waste the "hangar mode" versions? You could make a series of models without passengers and use SAMM to make static hangar queen models with the doors open displaying all of your handiwork done on the various cabin interiors which could be placed as scenery objects. After all, static aircraft do look better without pilots.

Just sayin'. :)

Great work mate!

Cheers
Gman

Hello lads

Gary:
The idea of static objects crossed my mind also; thanks for the feedback. Nevertheless, in this regard the learning curve presents uncertainties to me because I don't know a quad about it. When the time is right, I'll look into it.

Mike:
Thanks a million for those fantastic snapshoots.

The HEMS version will be more chalenging and a compromise between performance and balance between objects. The patitent litter has about 1500 polys in the actual state only, each seatbelt (wich I don't like very much...yet) in low poly has about 550 polygons. I need to "decide" which equipment will be included and how far I should go with each of them. I'd like to go "crazy" as much as I can.

Thank you all for being here with us.
Sergio.

Hello

Another update; just finished nex parts and textures:

It's getting harder and harder to achieve all remaining parts...:tapedshut:tapedshut:tapedshut

Greetings.
Sergio.

I hold my hand up to that one. TYPO, big finger on K and L :( will correct, well spotted. :yikes:

Tom:
Mortals like me and normal people very often overlook things; on the other hand, super intelligent people and you, are allowed to be excentric from time to time ;)

P.S. We are getting close with the HEMS version; as soon as I finish, will send you the corresponding files. Same goes for you George. :p

Looking better and better with each new update. I am doing the FSX at little pace as I want to do all models at once including the EMS models, so I await Sergio's latest files so I can update my copies. In the meantime, I have an S76 to release, a Bell 206 to work on with Sergio and the odd fixed wings ;)

Beautiful work Tom as always!!! :wizard:

By the way lads, this is one of Tom's models in XPlane 10 ;)

Take care and flight safely!
Sergio.
:D

Tom, simply hooked! Just want to know what kind of plaster will you prefere? Ripped with pimples or simple wound dressing? Looking forward to a well-assorted first-aid-box in the back of this gem! Hope my system can get the performance done - boy oh boy - a new standard in flighsim, mate...

Just to put everyone straight, this is Sergio's project (Antaris):wizard: and ALL the modeling and texturing is done by him. He aims to produce the FS2004 model. Euorastar350 is converting Sergio's model to FSX and I am adding some repaints and trying to convert to X-Plane 10 format. Long way to go for me yet.:banghead:
