• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Global AI Ship Traffic FSX, P3D and MSFS2020

Thanks a lot :D It is great to have been able to contribute the the development of MSFS 2024. We suffered a major set-back when we lost our data partner for the real time version of GAIST, but now we managed to get all that knowledge we gained in the development of the real time version transferred to the MSFS 2024 team so it can be used to make the maritime part of the sim better for all. Some have interpreted the words of Jorg as GAIST will be included in MSFS 2024, that is not the case, and only time will tell how much of it can continue in the new sim. As you see in the video, the default ships are getting a major upgrade, which would also have consequences for GAIST models. More to follow in the coming months. But meanwhile a new version of GAIST with a lot of optimization and as usual some new models is on the stairs for MSFS 2020.
I assume Gaya is doing the ships, due to licensing reasons? Will MS sorting out the data provider allow you to roll v4 back into 2020?
Cheers! Hope you're doing well!

yes, Gaya are doing the ships. There are several reasons - most importantly these ships needs to be prepared for interactive use - GAIST are just eye candy and for me to step in and work full time on this is not an option. As Jorg mentioned in his presentation I have my real job to look after - I just spent 6 weeks working on the opposite side of the globe... GAIST is just for fun, but I think that both Kai and I have given some assistance which can help getting a really realistic shipping in MSFS 2024 to the benefit of all.

I saw this too, congratulations!!! So excited we will all get Global Ship Traffic now. :) Hey if you need, you may want to approach Resolve Marine Group, as they do a lot of ship salvage and see if they'd be interested to have their ship models in MSFS 2024 as they do emergency ship rescue and salvage around the world. They have one of the largest ship simulators and contracts with cruise lines as well for training and do have 3D ship models that they might be interested to license. Owner of the company is Joseph Farrell Jr. aka Joe.

Hello Henrik,

first of all, congratulations on your success with GAIST.

Do you already have any information about whether it will be possible to add own ship models (and routes) in FS2024 or whether we can all close down our models?

Thanks - Unfortunately I have no idea yet... For the moment I will finalize another release for MSFS 2020 and then hopefully clarification will come soon.

Probably the last update for MSFS 2020 before the 2024 release is getting ready.

The shape of the ship taken into consideration it probably swallowed a bus already... :D

Hello Henrik,

I am glad that you have added more Vehicles Carriers.
We need tons of them.

Is it too late to add CMA CGM?
They are new. 16 ships were ordered. 3 or 4 were delivered, yet.
Or may be SAIC ANJI in the new livery?

Also, it would be very cool to have tankers from COSCO in the blue livery.

I hope you still do modeling in the future, Henrik.
I like your models alot!

P.S.
Will you release this update on avsim, too?

Thanks!

Modelling is a great way for me to relax so no risk I will stop modelling at this point :D And I still miss a few hundred thousand ships...

Too late with additions for the next update, but more models will come later... Right now I am finalizing Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth from Cunard and then it is time to launch.

Unfortunately we did a small mess up not coordinating well in the team, so we now have double up on the Aida cruise fleet... But good thing is that AIDALuna, AIDABella, AIDABlu, AIDADiva, AIDASol, AIDAMar, AIDAPerla, and AIDAPrima will all be in. They are mix of purchase and homemade.

Sorry, it's been a bit since I kept my sims scenery up to date on the Ai part. I'm just now realizing I'm still using v3 and v5 ultra was already released. So, I am in the process of updating to v5 Ultra. During the process of removing the old v3 Ultra, I noticed that I have a folder named "gaist-northamericacaribbean-routes" in my Community folder. Do I need to remove this folder and it's included files, as well?
Also, will the new update that you're working on now be v6 Ultra?

yes, you should remove that one. There should not be any old gaist folders present. There is in the new download a folder with routes called gaist-ship-routes_V1, which contains routes for the whole world.
I do not know if it will be v6 or v5.1... I will figure out on Monday.

Ok, thanks! Looking forward to the new update.

Hello Hendrik,

I know you are busy with the upcoming GAIST update, but I would like to ask a question.

Since you had made optional models for Container Ships, like EMPTY model or LIGHT model or MEDIUM model, I wanted to ask if it is possible to add these options also for these Container models:

AI_One_Apus

AI_One_Minato

It would be nice to have some more options/variations by adding these which I have mentioned above.

Thank you very much and I hope well progress for the GAIST updates and new models.

Global AI Ship Traffic V6 is now online on flightsim.to and flyawaysimulation.com

For those who followed our exit from flightsim.to I believe the flightsim.to team has made improvements on transparency and to their terms, which are now more balanced. Many users have asked if GAIST could return to Flightsim.to and I believe it is time to move on.

Looks glorious and I'll have to dust off MSFS to check this out! What is the most recent version for us P3D users in case I missed an update or two?
