• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

I'm having some problems with my ground poly in P3D V4 that I can swear I didn't have with FSX/P3D V2.5.

The first one is white lines, I used 2048 textures and for mapping in 3dmax 0.000488 X 0.99951 which overlaps my textures by 1 Pixel.

The second one as you may see in the picture is the confliction between P3D surface and my PG, I use -34 and -16 Z-bias for my base and asphalt. Airport surface is dead flat.

I would really appreciate your help.
Amir.

Hi,

What program do you use to create the ground polygons?

The first issue certainly looks like a mipmapping problem, perhaps you now need 2 pixel borders? The second one could be due to an area that is not perfectly flat (that can happen even with a flatten file). Enlarge the flattened area?

Thank you for your speedy reply. You are probably right I would try 2-pixel mapping. I use MCX ground poly wizard and already tried enlarging flattened area but sadly no success so far. I use MCX default settings on GP wizard could be the reason I'm having this issue?

I don't know, you might want to post that question on the MCX forum.

MCX works fine! No problems there. Try to find the culprit elsewhere.

For my GP not being flat, there was a simple answer; I didn't make earth curve correction. But I'm still working on white lines, no matter what I do, they are still there.
So far I tried:
Mipmap
2 to 4 Pixel space on my UAV mapping
Converting textures with different tools
Making my base platform from scetch

This topic made me thinking though
White Lines on the ground

Best,
Amir.
