• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

The texture just cuts like that in mcx (see third img)

In my sim, it looks like this (see 2nd image)

And rendered model (first img)

I have set my runway texture above the main texture.

Hello,....

Looks like all of your textures are not in the "Power of 2". Fix that, and you should found it "Ok" then.

Hey, thanks for your reply, but the power of two has nothing to do with this at all. Tried it a few times already.

Hello...

Its part of the reason..... because its not being mapped-out correctly. You also, might need to sub-divide the long runaway into sections within MCX.

Thanks for your response again! Making all the textures to the power of two didn’t help, as I said, but how do I divide the runway in MCX?

Hello...

You said in your OP that you have set your runaway texture on top of your main texture, what do you mean by that? How are the ground polygons being created, is it through the GPW within MCX? If you are, there are options within MCX to subdivide it. Maybe be in different words, but it is there.

By saying I have my runway set above the main image, is in the ground polygon wizard, layers or something like that. I noticed that in the new version it doesn’t help at all. Perhaps its the group polygons? But every tutorial I’ve read/saw clearly states to uncheck the checkbox.

What version of MCX did you use to start with and what old version of MCX did you use to solve the problem?

The one I had a lot of trouble with is the development release 1.13 I think. I used the stable one (not the dev one)

Hi,

Those missing triangles is a known bug. Just make you polygon smaller by dividing it in your modeling tool is a good workaround.

Hi,

Are you using the latest development release? I fixed the bug mentioned above recently.

Yes, on the 26th of December 2018 I added that fix. So your build is new enough it seems.

So it seems that fix is not perfect. Could you isolate the polygon that has issues so that I can use it for testing?

Hi,

I can reproduce the problem here, but the object is still rather complex to debug. So I'll try to isolate one material and see if I can reproduce it then as well.
