• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MV-22B Osprey (Release 1.0)

Hi Kolijah,

for spoiler control will investigate it.

zooming panel.
did you have this happen at first time or after you add some gauge?
if that happen after make change on gauge, would you start all over again (install again), let see it still work or not.
if new install work, would you add one by one gauge and check it.
I suspected there has some conflicting with my gauge, will investigate first.

maryadi

The issue with the zoomed in glass panels started on install. the only extra gauge I have is the swapped out minipanel.cfg, which is the same minipanel I have on my main system. I will revert it to the stock minipanel and reinstall the aircraft.

Your observation is correct; more specifically:
If the Proprotors are Locked, the SpoilerControl doesn't work anymore; it WILL still work when Proprotors aren't locked, but not rotating anymore.

This has all to do with the complex implementation of mapping an axis control (like Spoiler) onto the nacelles control; which is tricky enough as-is to get it fool-proof. So I don't think I will change that.
No reason to change it, just a notation in the manual at 18.3.2 step 10, and 18.3.3 step 5. Once the user switches to aileron trim and gets the flights saved, they could easily switch back to the spoiler axis.

That depends (see explanation above) how this twist throttle works and how you can assign it to FS commands.
If you can assign it like a 3-position switch (using repetitive AileronTrim commands): Yes, it would.
But if you can only assign it to an axis: same problem as with a thumbwheel or lever axis.

Rob
It's a standard axis, but you can change any axis to a switch in FSUIPC (up to 10 positions if i remember correctly) If that doesn't work, I think there are a couple 3 position switches on the collective. I don't recall if they return to center or not, but I could always rig it to (rubber band on each side) or replace the switch for one that is spring loaded. As long as it has the same amount of poles and throws, the usb board won't know the difference.

I'm having a minor issue with my laptop - ASUS G50, Vista64 FSX:A in that when in the VC, all of the screens are zoomed in (guessing a factor of 4?) MFD, PFD, CDU, even the AP panel. The minipanelv3 is zoomed in properly. I started in the VC so I don't think it's conflicting, and its the same minipanel as in my win7 system, and the panel.cfg files are identical. One possible issue is that this laptop is an odd size if I remember correctly (1366x768) If it's something really dumb I should have known in the settings or fsx.cfg I apologize in advance. I did a couple google searches and couldn't find anyone else with a similar problem on another airplane. Definitely a low priority, as I do not use this laptop very often.

Check your windows magnifier settings. If it is not at 100% it might cause these things to be expanded.

Reinstalled aircraft and stock minipanel. Issue persists.

SOLVED, it was a stupid setting. Settings/display/aircraft/High Resolution 3D Virtual Cockpit must be checked, apparently.

The windows magnifier was off and at normal settings, the icon dpi was at 120, but changing it had no effect on the VC. However, the suggestion had me going through everything with a fine toothed comb, windows graphics settings, accessibility, nvidia settings, fsx.cfg, finally found the cause in the basic fsx settings. Settings/display/aircraft/High Resolution 3D Virtual Cockpit must be checked, apparently.

Thank you both very much for the help.

K.C.

I have a question in regards to the refueling probe; more specifically being able to see it from the cockpit when extended. Does anyone else have issue viewing the extended probe from the VC? I ask as I may have a viewpoint issue with just my specific system. The goal would be to simulate air to air refueling so a clear line of sight of the tip would be required. Not sure if its just my system so I just wanted to ask. I haven't toyed with changing my viewpoint setting to move my point of view "up" in the cockpit

thanks

hey Kalong,
as your MV22 both work VTOL and Normal flight AC, and thats its react to the Nacelle position and others features etc, I wonder to know how you managed to make the FDE (FSX one or External as MJC and FSL) because its was first out of the FS limites to have a VSTOL aircraft :)

I must say that I am thoroughly enjoying this plane! One question though: Is there a DME, if so where in the cockpit is it located?

I can't see it either, except from FLIR menu that P3D only. let me think maybe there another way to see it in VC.

it likely from manual and some other source, minimum speed, max speed, roll speed, test with some weight etc. the most important is deal between FDE airplane and VTOL. I did so many correction to get it right, same as Rob did. Rob did more work on his VTOL to match FDE I have.

Yes, on PFD right above, you must input the frequency of VOR/DME or DME only and get receipt signal from it then DME will appear (along with ICAO code)

Thanks for the info about the DME. As to seeing the probe: Why not just put in a cockpit view? That would be the easiest way.

IMO, I like to stay with the gauge indicator.
if air refueling can be done. I need to maintain speed and attitude. fuel weight will give effect to aircraft flight dynamic.
but in short term your idea is good.

Hello Gentlemen,
Thank you so much for this V22!! I am really enjoying it.
I added a rescue hoist for myself, where I think the real v22 has one. you can add this to the config file if you want.
[Sling.0]
// Winch - Hoist - rear ramp
// FA PS UD
position = -20.7, 0.0, 3.0 //Feet from datum
hoist_extend_rate = 5 //Feet per second
hoist_retract_rate = -5 //Feet per second
max_stretch = 2.0 //Max stretch distance at ultimate load
damping_ratio = 0.6 //0 for no damping to 1.0 for critically damped.
rated_load = 600 //Characteristics tension of cable in pounds
ultimate_load = 2250 //Breaking force in pounds
tolerance_angle=45 //Angle, in degrees, used to determine lateral breaking force limit
auto_pickup_range = 8 //Max Range, in feet, for auto-pickup
auto_pickup_max_speed = 8.5 //Maximum speed (feet per second) for auto-pickup
hoist_payload_station = 4 //Payload station in which the hoist will load in and out of. 1 is first station.
hoist_door=2 //Door associated with hoist. Must be open for use.

[Sling.1]
position = 0.0, 0.0, -2.0 //Feet from datum
max_stretch = 4.0 //Max stretch distance at ultimate load
damping_ratio = 0.75
rated_load = 10000
ultimate_load = 125000 //Breaking force in pounds
tolerance_angle=70 //Angle, in degrees,
auto_pickup_range = 8 //Max Range, in feet, for auto-pickup
auto_pickup_max_speed = 8.5 //Maximum speed (feet per second)

I also added a "hook cam" from the belly, so you can see the external loads, and I added a "rear ramp" view.

This works from me in FSX Gold, I am not sure it will work in other sims. Thanks again. I hope this is ok. I was enjoying it so much, I wanted to try and give back a little.

Hey Guys I made a Navigation strobe effect for the V-22 if anyone wanted to try it out.
I've noticed on a few videos of the "real-world" Osprey that its Navigation lights flash when the engine is about to start up or after engine shutdown.
Few videos if you dont know what I'm talking about:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3hHeXaNlDU @0:00
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zm6omnJkHHY @0:00
www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGQh7dGXBX0 @1:54
www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPV0mwbn3ck @0:13

I dont know how to attach a light effect to a model, so I put it in the center of the nacelles instead, so it looks like it is still attached (somewhat at least). Strobe effect is controlled with the "strobe" switch in the VC.
You can download the mod here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?catid=118&linkid=22533
Open the README for installation.

Nice job, that is a standard procedure during start with position lights on "flash", then moved to "steady" when ready to taxi.

Well, fore some reasons I don't know, some missions donth work/

Kayakist Keys: don't detect that I landed so no win
US Coast Guard Transport: no winn after landing at hospital
Mount St Helen Rescue: I did not understood what happened, somthing about low fuel, after landing at Toledo, its fail the mission...
Baltic Sea Rescue: Wonth show the way after takeoff (no compass, no dialogs, no communications)

As error is human, I'd like to have a few people (3 to 5) to test the missions too ;)
PM Me is interrested

Thanks Marc, I will have to try it in the mission now. Thanks for testing this for us. I glad you are enjoying it.
