• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

New scenery Göteborg-Landvetter FSX/P3D2 RC-Scenery

Hi Roby,
Those are really impressive.
I almost done with my ZBAA but I still wonder what is the best for the seasonal texture of snow on the field over ground poly. It is my first airport with snow. Would you mind giving me the advice? We need SODE, don't we?

Hi Tic,

I did not use SODE though I could have. Both approaches have its advantages and disadvantages. I just photoshop the photoreal satellite image.

Photo seasons are a combination of photoshopping each season and setting the correct months/texture combinations in the INF file. For winter, I sample the green areas, the use Replace Colour to make winter.

Here's one of my INF files:

Thank you, Andrew, for giving Tic more explanations but I thought he would know that already.
The solution (and also the disadvantage) is in the alpha channels of the ground poly that cover the photoreal.

Indeed, my custom ground polys have yet no snow, thinking about it just give me a headache! A MAIW developer solved this by using SODE at RAF Lakenheath.

Yes, Andrew. The problem is not photoscenery but the ground poly which is seen over it.

Hello, is there any update ongoing Landvetter Airport, or can i install it on P3D 4.2 anyway, the v2 version?

Depends on what Simulator you are on.
FSX is ready and so is the P3Dv4.1.
We are now checking whether it works as it should in P3Dv4.2  because it took us too long to get it updated (especially the dynamic lighting that killed FPS that now seems to be (?) remedied in P3Dv4.2).
The season changes are in the photoreal, Tic, and that too took a long time.
Have some patience please.
Easter will be the time it is ready (fortunately, Easter is early this year:)).

Hoi,

ESGGv3 for P3Dv4.2 is ready with dynamic lights and all. Should be sent to SimMarket on Sunday.
FSX version will follow soon after.
What a relief!

Cheers,

Roby

PS: Just one screenshot for fun :

OK, ok., just one final one (apologies for not having yet found the time to make the night textures for the AI as they should):

Nope, sorry, only in the FSX version. It would have taken another couple of months to have that included and if you are in the cockpit, you do not see it anyway;).

By the way, this car rental billboard was censored :):

Cheers,

Oh, from now on I will look forward to upcoming airports around. Will watch the screenshot forums intently near future by this jokey gift
