• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

One click hangar

I am using Sketchup 2017. I followed your instructions to install the files in the Plugin folder. Sketchupup 2017 shows your Extension not being "digitally Signed", therefore the extension can not be "installed". Please let me know if you have an update for the 2017 version. I sure would like to use your Plugin.

I am using Sketchup 2017 too but on my Installation OneClickHangar works perfectly!

Perhaps you have not enabled it! Drag the slider to the right to enable the plugin!

I just found this thread by a Google of Sketchup Hangers and after a few hiccups (my fault) I read this entire post and I have the OCH version of the program working beautifully in Sketchup 2016. I have created a lot of scenery and custom hangers in Sketchup but all "from scratch" this is such a timesaver, thank you so much Morton. I am waiting for approval at your forum to download the latest version you created. A couple of questions if you or anyone still monitor this thread:

I created my first hanger to test it using all the default values. Length for example says 1600.0000002 which at first I thought was inches but after measurements which in U.S. it measures 52.0 feet, what is the 1600 or is it just "units" I calculated that it equals 0.39 inches I think that this is supposed to be centiimeters then right? So all measurements in OCH are in cm. I can go from there in inches and feet. I am creating a realistic KCRE Grand Strand Airport for FSX which I plan to share at the SimOuthouse eventually. The FBO which took a week to build is done. I was also able to change the textures of the OCH hanger test so I know how to do that now. Thank you for all the time you spent creating this and a plugin for free is fantastic. All of my scenery and repaints are all freeware. This I hope will streamline my other hangers and buildings.

Problem! I discovered how to change the units to feet and inches. Great! I tried to create a standard hanger with the actual dimensions of my hanger on KCRE next to the FBO and it comes out distorted and then a "bug splat" in Sketchup 2016. I tried 3 times and then quit. Any idea what I am doing wrong? What do you need me to show you. Is there some kind of a error log?

Hi, I'm going to have a look at this. Could you please advise which steps you took to produce the error?
There is a log.och file in the plugins/OCH folder which could be helpful.

Whatever was going on is no longer "going on". It is working perfectly. I have used it a few times successfully including creating a tower with it. Unless I missed something though, the tower only produced the bottom with no choices for the top which I created from scratch but it came out nice. Thank you for your offer to help. No more "bug splats" I am thinking that it was a Sketchup 2016 thing NOT One Click Hanger which I recommended on my post of my airport.

Happy the issue has gone away. There hasn't been any development on the plugin for more than five years as I've been focusing on creating AI aircraft repaints, AI flight plans, AI models and other tools.
For the tower, there's a field called tower levels, where you can set different radii and select different textures for each "level"

There's a small showcase video here:

I believe these are the entries I used in the videos are these:
Tower 1:
Tower Levels: 2600;400;2700;450;2800;525;2900;625;3100;625;3100;675;3300;575;3300;500;3600;600

Tower 2:
Tower Levels: 400;330;900;280;1400;260;1700;250;2500;250;2800;400;2920;400;2920;395;2800;395;2800;275;3000;275;3400;400;3420;330;3500;200
Level Textures: 11;Scratchy window;20;B;11;Grey metal;100;F;12;Grey metal;100;C

Tower 3:
Tower Levels: 400;600;400;400;600;400;900;500;950;500
Level Textures: 3;Scratchy window;30;B;2;White brick wall;100;B;2;Wooden planks;100;F;4;Grey metal;100;C

The syntax is:
Tower Levels: Height;Radius;Height;Radius and so on
Level Textures: Tower Level;Texture Name;Opacity;Type;Tower Level;Texture Name;Opacity;Type; and so on. Type can be B (both faces textured, used to create windows), W (outside only textured), F (to create floors inside tower), C (to create ceilings inside tower)

If the texture is not found, the tool will stop drawing at that point.

Thank you for this. I have saved all the information and the video and will check them out when I get a chance. I have been busy in other areas too and not doing airports.

I recently realised it's more than 10 years ago since I last developed One Click Hangar, which was originally an add-on to SketchUp.

I have been thinking about maybe porting it as a plugin for Blender, but never got around to trying to do anything more about it.

Instead, I've now decided to see if I can make it into a standalone web based tool. Currently it only lives on my dev laptop. I started planning this around Christmas and started the actual development 3-4 weeks ago.

Short video showing some of the features so far:

I want to thank you for "One Click Hanger" which I have frequently used in my Sketchup 2017 Make. It is perfectly acceptable to me and since I only design scenery for Flight simulators like FSX and P3D 64bit, for free, I can't justify paying them anything for a subscription especially on a pensioners income. I am grateful that Sketchup 2017 still works on Windows 10 and don't intend on Windwos 11 anytime soon with the drawbacks I have become aware of using our older software. Good luck with the web-based. Will it still work the same way to export dae's that can be opened in Model Converter X for FSX and P3D?

Thank you so much. I am planning to include export options to formats that can be imported in ModelConverterX. I did initially consider Collada as my first choice, as that was the route used in SketchUp, but glTF seems the more logical approach. Both can be opened in MCX, but glTF offers more features as far as I can gather.

I believe that is what is used in MSFS 2020 and 2024. Someone correct me if I am wrong. AND...as long as MDCx can open it, it can be exported in various formats to use in other programs.
