• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Dear All!

As announced a few weeks ago, I am working on Africa again, and have now recreated Morocco and Western Sahara.
Both countries are now completed.

First, a few pictures from Morocco:

I wonder when Asobo Studio's (or Lockheed Martin) themselves is going to hire you ;-)

Dear All!

I am continuing with new versions.
In the meantime, I have finished three or four countries: Egypt, Mauritania, Senegal and Gambia.

As always, here are a few pictures first.
Let's start with Egypt:

and again even more pictures:
- more pictures from the Senegal and Gambia in the next post due to limitation to 20 images per post -

I hope that the new versions will find favour again.
I myself am actually quite enthusiastic about the new versions, because compared to the old versions, a lot has really changed...
In the new versions, I have had completely new scripts for a few months now, which can place the vegetation with an accuracy of 8 m (in the old versions it was 30 m), which allow a much more precise differentiation of the type and density of vegetation. Then there are also new buildings (while I used to place the buildings more or less randomly where I had no data, I can now place the buildings more coherently), new nightlighting, fuel tanks as objects, and in some places even photosceneries that have a higher resolution and are better adapted in terms of colour.

An overview of all my sceneries and further information can be found - as always - here:

I wish you all a wonderful Sunday and a great week ahead!

Hello everyone!

In the meantime, while I am trying to get through at the MSFS SDK, I have recreated the Mali and the Niger.

As always, more information over there:

And now something on my own behalf:
For me, too, the share of P3D continues to decrease and that of MSFS increases.
At the same time, energy prices here in Germany are at record levels; the cost of electricity alone to create a country like Mali or Niger is around €45-70.
So every day I think about whether I should even switch on the workstation for scenery creation.

To cut a long story short, I'm thinking of scaling down scenery development for the P3D. Well, not just for the P3D, but in general.

Nevertheless, I would like to show 2 pictures at the end:
To the first Cape Town. I am currently working on a new version for South Africa. It will take some time, but the most south-western part of South Africa already looks promising.
2022-8-27_19-9-42-6145qc3e.png

The 2nd picture is from a completely different region. Since I visited Québec with the university only a few weeks ago, I have also started to create Québec for the sim.
I also see this version of Québec as an "experimental" version so far.
While there are no seasons, I tried a method of reducing the scenery size here by only providing the "points of interest" with higher resolution images.
I created this image far to the north near the Billy Diamond Highway

I hope by now I have answered all the PMs that have come up in my absence. If not, please just write to me again!

Dear All!

For some time there was no real news from me - today there is some again!

So today I can present you 2 new versions:
1. Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso is newly created, as well as Mali or other African countries. The result has become really very good, but see for yourself:

The second update concerns South Africa. I think I've been announcing this update for ages, but now, after almost 3 months of intensive work on South Africa, I'm really satisfied and can show you this update in its finished state:

Hello everyone!

The next 4 (!) updates have been completed - this time it was the turn of Guinea and Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Togo.
I have combined Guinea and Guinea-Bissau into one:

Hello everyone!

There hasn't been any news from me for a long time - simply because I didn't want to power the workstation anymore, unfortunately the prices for energy are just too high.
But since I needed the workstation for hydrological modelling the last weeks anyway, I created a new version of Turkey at the same time.
Unfortunately, there was a severe earthquake just a few days ago, and I was already thinking about whether I should release the scenery at the moment.

But I have finally decided to do so.

The scenery is completely new, especially with the focus also on the autogen.

Dear all,

For quite a long time there was no real news.
But the last weeks and months I spent updating some countries or creating new versions.
The focus for all of them was to improve the autogen (and yes, it really has gotten a lot better, especially in terms of cities!).
On the other hand, it has to be said that the MSFS has taken over the GA pilots among us (rightly so!) and therefore - if at all - only the airliner pilots among us use the P3D.
Who knows, maybe this will change again with P3Dv6?

For this reason I have decided to adjust the sceneries especially for airliner pilots.
The intended side effect is that I therefore use only around the major airports higher resolution satellite images and so the file size is significantly smaller.
Romania, for example, has therefore shrunk from 40 GB to 5 GB.
Of course, this is accompanied by a loss of quality in the more sparsely populated regions - but due to the fact that server space is very expensive, this was simply a necessary step.

All sceneries now come - of course - with night lighting and storage tanks. Both can be switched on and off via Configtool.
Recently, however, I have now brought a lot of countries back to the download server, which will surely please many. Here is an overview:

In Europe, I re-created add re-added Bulgaria and Romania:
Bulgaria:
bulgariak9e1a.png

Romania:

In Africa:
The Central African Republic:
centralafricanvli4g.png

Djibouti:
djibouti51i7b.png

Eritrea:
eritrea8keao.png

Somalia:

South Sudan

... and, without pictures: Cameroon!

For more information please write me a PM!

Have a nice weekend everybody!
