• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v5 Photosceneries and Autogen Packages for the world

Dear All,

It's been over a month since the last announcements.
However, a lot has happened in this time, because I have rediscovered the fun of long-haul flights with PMDG 777 and 747.

So what does that mean in concrete terms?
In concrete terms, it means that I have not only updated my scenery for Africa, but have also set off for a new continent.

This continent has always been a big challenge for me, that's why I could never achieve usable results before.

But here are a few pictures from a short test flight today:

2023-4-23_8-41-50-6581bc82.png

But it will take a while until the scenery is ready.
I also have to make sure I have enough storage space on the server.
Even though I now only need about 10-20 GB of space for 1 million km² (no, not more!).

At the same time, I'm still trying to update my African sceneries and make them all available again.

So much for the moment!
Have a nice Sunday!

Dear friends!

There are news from me again.

First, however, two pieces of bad news:
My overview map, which I always refer to, has become too small.
Two new countries no longer fit on it.
That's why I had to redesign the overview map. Even though the new map is a bit smaller, as it covers the whole world, I hope you can see everything!

The second piece of bad news is that my download server has filled up a lot. I have to think about an expansion here as well, and also whether and how I can finance it.

But here's the good news now:
I am quite actively developing again, and have created a few million km² for the P3D since a few weeks. I am currently on the road in South America, with the long-term plan of creating the whole of South America.
While Brazil is a big chunk that is not finished yet, I would like to announce the completion of the two "small" countries Paraguay and Uruguay.

Here are a few pictures from Paraguay:

And also from Uruguay:

2023-4-28_11-51-59-98fyfxn.png

As announced some time ago, I am focusing on the important airports, so both Asunción SGAS and Montevideo SUMU were created with high-resolution photosceneries up to 0.25 m/px.
Of course, these sceneries also come with a small config tool to activate and deactivate the night lighting and the storage tanks.

While I'm working on South America, I'm trying not to lose sight of my other sceneries, especially in Africa.
I am already planning the redevelopment of the countries around the equator.
At the same time, I would also like to create my Central Asian countries again.
As you can see, there is a lot going on.

As always, you can find more information here in the FSXForum, especially the above-mentioned overview map:

If you have any questions, please write me a private message here or in the FSXForum.

I wish you all a nice Sunday and, if applicable, a nice May Day.

This is very exciting! Looks great and looking forward to the rest of South America. Are you going to consider Central America and the rest of the Caribbean that you haven't already touched yet?

Thanks a lot!

Well, on the whole, that's the plan, yes. On the one hand, America up to and including Mexico (I don't know about the Caribbean islands yet...), parallel finishing Africa again and also tackle Asia again.
However, the whole thing also stands and falls with the costs for the download server.

Oh, new pictures are coming for sure, and quite soon ;)
So, and as promised - here they are!

We are in one of the southernmost countries on our planet - it is a huge, diverse country whose football team won the last World Cup. Argentina!

I hope you like the pictures!
For your information:
Argentina is already very far along and I hope to put Argentina on the server this weekend.
It is expected that the whole of Argentina with its 2.8 million km² will take up about 20-25 GB of hard disk space.

Dear all!

Some time has passed again, during which I have not been idle and in the meantime have (partly) recreated many countries.

To be exact, it has become several million square kilometres.

Unfortunately, after a graphics card driver update my P3D doesn't like to start anymore, so I don't have screenshots of all the new countries - but I have a few pictures anyway.

Let's start with South America. South America is (almost) completely finished - here Bolivia:

Brazil is also completely finished:

We continue with Chile, but unfortunately without pictures.
But there are some from Colombia again:

So, now on without pictures.
On the Asian side, both Oman and the United Arab Emirates have been added!

As always, you can find more information, an overview map, an update list, etc. here:

Otherwise - as always, please write me a private message!

And now something on my own account:
It's the weekend when Prepar3D version 6 will be released.
From what I've heard of it so far, I'm not sure I'll be making that switch again.
I also wonder if my sceneries will still look as good in v6 as they did in v5.
For this reason, I will wait a while to see whether I will adapt my sceneries for P3Dv6 at all.
If it requires a lot of work - then I won't.

So much for the moment
I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Dear all!

First of all, I'd like to quickly add a few pictures that I didn't send you last time.

First of all Chile:

... Then we come to the news:
Venezuela, Guyana and Suriname are also finished!

2023-7-13_7-47-16-966cli1o.png

2023-7-13_7-43-32-54733iw6.png

Then some more info:

Some may ask, what about Ecuador and French Guyana? Well - unfortunately, I lack the necessary data sets here to be able to create these two countries. Therefore, in short: Can't.

On the subject of Prepar3Dv6: I myself have not (yet) made the jump to v6. For the moment I don't plan to change either, as P3Dv5.4 runs satisfactorily for me and due to the lack of addon development for v6 I don't see any future for me in this simulator either. Instead, when the PMDG 777, the Aerosoft A330 and the TFDI MD11 are released for MSFS, I will use MSFS more actively and P3D less. I think this is the case for many people who are not tied to the P3D by hardware, home cockpit, etc.

And here we come to the last point:
Namely, the issue of how long I will continue to create scenery.
And yes, I don't really have an answer to this question at the moment either. The truest answer is: As long as I feel like it. No more and no less. I would love to create many, many millions of square kilometres more - Central Asia, for example. Australia. North America. But realistically, it won't be like that. I'll just create the regions I feel like. Sorry to be so honest about that.

For the moment, however, not much will change!

More information about my project as well as an overview map of all available sceneries can be found here:

For further information, please write me - as you are used to - a private message.

I wish you all a nice weekend!

PS:
Almost forgot: Of course my photosceneries also work without problems in P3Dv6!

Dear Friends,

it didn't take a long time since my last announcement but I have a lot of sceneries with me today!
Well, the covered area is not so big.
But the landscape is fantastic and for nearly all kinds of flying you can find suitable airfields.
And yes, I have to admit, today I'm really happy to present you the new sceneries with a lot of pictures!

Let's start with - for me - one of the most important countries north of South America - Costa Rica! Pura Vida!

Liberia

Unfortunately it is not possible to create Nicaragua, as Datasets are missing.
So we'll continue in the North, with the smallest country of Central America, which is just as big as Hessia - El Salvador:

But now - the last news:
I have introduced a new category on the overview map that I always link to:
"Impossible" countries - countries for which I simply don't have any data, so I can't create a scenery.

Otherwise you know the procedure - just write me a private message as usual!
More information and the overview map can be found here:

I wish you a nice rest of the week!
