• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Recovering Prokey

I have recently built a new Desktop PC to take Win 11 - In doing so I have had to do a re-installation of ADE9X )still had the installed download on disk!) - I now have ADEX OK but I previously had a Prokey which I no longer appear to have (noticed lack of "hide object" function first!). Can I recover this and, if so, how do I go about it?

As I remember ADE became freeware and final release had a ProKey supplied for all to use ... try downloading it from the "Resources" link at the top of the page and see if that works.

Alternatively :- from a download of ADE I archived, but never got around to familiarising myself with :

The ProKey is available is now free of charge. It will need a key when the evaluation period runs out:

Name: ade_prokey

Key: 4160-2EE1-C226-E407-88DB-22CE-6782-6A1C

Trust this helps.

Thanks for the response - I reloaded ADE using the Installer file I obtained when ADE 1.75 came out, and then it got the update to 1.76, but that must not have got the "key included' version.
I'll do a new download and, by what you've told me, that should solve it.
I miss the 'hide' function particularly because, over the years, I have built or modified a lot of airfields, and many have exclusions etc that were hidden before but now overlap other stuff and I can't hide them again!

Thanks again - Blue skies always!
Geoff

The ProKey is not shipped as part of the base installation. There is a separate download which was referred to above. After you install ADE then install the ProKey and use the free credentials to activate it

Thanks for that, Jon.
I've downloaded the ProKey download OK and written the 2 folders into my already-installed ADEX 1.78.7298, but when I start up ADE I'm not getting the dialogue box mentioning the trial period!
Do I need to do another fresh installation of the ADE 1.78 to get this to work?

The installation instructions for the ProKey said to copy the 2 folders downloaded into main ADE directory and overwrite when asked.

I have also separately installed the 1.79 dev version, and copied the 'plugins' and 'manuals' folders into that version's main directory. On startup of ADE179 I now get an error on loading - see attached screenshot

Hi again Gary,

OK, I've got it at last. Unblocked the .dll's OK and started up ADE179 - Request dialogue for registering came up and I entered the info Chris Eve gave me in the first reply to this post. All was accepted and I'm back in "Pro" business!
Thanks to all for the help!
A Happy New Year to all and may all your flights be wonderful!

GD
